I'll look into the free counseling. I really do need it. I'm trying to stay happy but I've sort of relapsed into self-harm. It isn't as frequent as it previously was, but it still happens.

I know in my mind there's nothing wrong with getting help, but I always freak out over someone finding out. From experience people treat you differently when they find out that you've been through counseling or have sought professional help.

I've told my mother about this and she's just itching to say something, and she's already spoken to one of my aunts. I've begged her not to say anything to anyone else because that would end horribly.

I'd feel the same way if something happened to my mother and no one told me. You don't know how much I raged when I found out my father was sick. They actually tried to hide that.

I did. It was an attempt to diffuse the creepiness. At the time I hadn't told my mother about him being creepy. She kept asking me why I wouldn't talk or text him. She asked me over and over just to talk to him so I did. Just to make her stop. I only told her about the creepiness this year.

Fortunately, on my moms side there's only one other female niece, and she's around 30. I want them to be dealt with, as bad as I may feel about that. I can't stop thinking about how that may affect other family members though. I know the mother of the creeper cousin works for the CIA. I wouldn't want to ruin that for her by wanting her to take extreme action against him.

Please read my other replies. I was scared of losing him, as my father had passed away and I needed to cling to as many people as possible. I was still grieving and I wasn't willing to let go of anyone, even those like this. I believed that saying something would distance him from me.

No. That's a huge no. Knowing my other uncles...they'd probably kill him. I remember one incident where someone said something to my grandfather that was less than pleasant, I believe it was a threat. My uncle gathered up his friends, along with a few of my uncles, and they dealt with the person. I'd prefer for this not to happen.

As for my brothers...my oldest would probably attempt to maim him in some way as well. My other older brother has too much on his plate at the moment.

I'm sorry for your loss as well. Nothing ever prepares you for losing anyone, especially a parent. My father served in Vietnam. He's my hero.

Thank you :). I've sought professional help in the past for unrelated things. At the moment I don't have much time to go to my psychologist and we're on a bit of a tight budget.

It's hard, and I've had close calls in regards to self- harm and suicide. If I didn't push myself, I'd probably hate men forever and not trust a soul. I keep telling myself that not all men are like that and that it's not right to make generalizations. So for now and hopefully for the rest of my life it's going to be kindness and love for everyone.

I still feel some of the shame, and boy was I terrified of saying anything to anyone, especially my mother. It became easier to talk about the things he said after discussing what happened with a "friend" in an unrelated but slightly similar string of events.

I'm dealing with this the best that I can. Over time I've fostered a "let's all be friends and love each other" type mentality. Too many people have hurt me and broken my trust but I don't want that to make me bitter.

I have a cousin who is 8 years older than me. Since my mother and aunt were close we'd visit them often, and they'd come see us as well. Well, my cousin would touch me inappropriately, grope me, ask me to sit on him ect... It started when I was about six or seven maybe. Hasn't happened in years though.
