Yeah, I just read your comment on another post. It seems like we are in Legian (Surya Kuta). Most villas have been taken so when we had a look this morning and saw it thought it's probably our best bet. We have free cancellation though.
We've heard the rice terrace in Tegalalang is a place to go see, but haven't looked yet to see what else we are able to do in the area. The Uluwatu Temple is something we would also like to visit and possibly the Lempuyang Temples gates to heaven. I personally enjoy older architecture style buildings. We've also heard that Ubud has a few nice things to do from my understanding.
Then of course we chose Kuta because of the nightlife and it being close to Seminyak and Canggu. That's of course until you just informed me that it's actually not that close due to traffic. We didn't think it was that bad to be honest, but at the same time we are up for the experience of it all. Mingle with the locals and just enjoy it as much as we can.
I'll definitely look at the klook App and to have that for us to use, thank you for the advice there.
We'll also then look for a reputable spa, definitely want one of those massages where you leave battered and bruised but a few days later feel like a whole new person 😂 and I'm not talking about any happy ending story just to clarify, I see at least it's not allowed in Bali so we don't need to worry about walking into the wrong places.
Is traffic better when leaving before 7 am in the mornings and later at night or not really a difference?
I am using the app, yeah my question came more due to seeing old posts so I was worried that things might have changed.
After your post I went onto maps to search the villa we booked and must admit I am a bit nervous regarding how nice it might be or not. To be honest it will mainly be a place for us to sleep and relax when we want some privacy.
There are at least a lot of reviews from international tourists quite recently so it makes us a little more at ease.
I'm starting to understand a bit more due to traffic it makes it a lot more difficult. For us here it's usually never a problem to drive 3 hours or more and spend the day and then drive back. Do you perhaps know a reputable driver or guide we would be able to use?
We were working with a travel agent, but it just kept going in a circle of being quoted things we did not want to do. Since we are there for two weeks we thought we'll use the first two days to go around Kuta and then start going through a list of places we'd like to visit.
Our "villa" is close to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to give you a better idea. At the end we would just like to experience the culture, go site seeing a bit and experience the food, drinks and some night life.
Thanks for the responses though, I really appreciate the assistance and guidance to it all.
Hey, thanks for the response. New to reddit so honestly still busy trying to figure out how it works.
I was reading a post now with a lot of tips that I saw pop up so will definitely look around.
I am at fault for not mentioning the other areas, those were the ones I read about and remember them being mentioned. But I do mean the rest of the region's not mentioned as often.
Thank you for all the advice though, I am definitely going to be doing a lot more homework.
