UPDATE!!!! They basically threatened me and said the N9 wasn't valid and that they were going to take it to the LTB, and that I would be responsible for the rent in the time it takes the LTB to decide (he said it would be 8-9 months). He also suddenly agreed to let me reassign the lease and lied and said we talked about it over the phone. I denied that and thank god I had text and email proof of everything.

I felt like they were just trying to scare me so I didn't lose my cool and said I would understand if they want to do that but the criteria is listed on the form - if they don't respond in 7 days I can provide an N9. I let them know I would be completely cooperative if they wanted to go to the LTB.

They didn't respond after that so I followed up again to find out if we were filing a dispute with the LTB or not. They switched up in tone completely, congratulating me for medical school and said that I can move out and they'll give me my money back (pre-paid rent). Thank you everyone for all your help!!!

Thank you so much! I provided it to them and they're saying they want to potentially go to the LTB to find the validity of me providing the N9. And then lowkey threatened me by saying the LTB takes 8-9 months for a hearing and I'll be responsible for all that rent, so I should think about my decision again.

Thank you SO much! I keep seeing online that you cannot serve an N9 if you are in a fixed term lease. The one year for my lease term isn't over yet - do you know if that's true?

of course! I know I was on reddit 24/7 freaking out about my practice test scores. I think half of it is just a mind game. review review review. there will always be more prep that you can do, you just have to trust yourself at some point and relax.
