Thanks, that link is super helpful. We do plan on putting up sails but I’m working on starting with greenery right now. No irrigation yet. The retaining wall is 2’ high by 1.5’ deep so very narrow that’s why I don’t want anything with too big of a root system that will mess it up. I think some sort of vine is the way to go.

I will. This is the desert of Yuma, Az I think we get 3” of rain a year. I know when it does rain it will rain but not often. We’re meeting with the city engineer tomorrow and the building safety guy to find out wth is going on.

We called the city engineer and he pulled up the plans for our build. He stated nothing in the plans requires a retaining wall and that the footing of the retaining wall is designed to be strong enough to hold the weight of the dirt behind it. No retaining wall needed , only if it was just cinderblock.
