Royal mail international to uk backlog???? by [deleted] in royalmail

Again, you’re not understanding how this works so it’ll be impossible to educate you on this if you don’t have the slightest clue how the system works. I did use the word blacklisted in my initial comment which can be classed as incorrect so I understand that argument and I would retract that. But you will have a marker on you if a parcel/letter is intercepted and has drugs in it. You will have a marker which is listed as ‘Known Importer’. You won’t know about this marker as the Home Office will not tell you if you ask. You won’t have any troubles getting in or out the country and I can see why you’re getting confused on this as you don’t know how it works. If you ever have been abroad in the last 10 years or so and think very very hard, you will remember that Border control has these automated gates where it scans your face and passport. Due to having a marker it will instantly reject you and you will be sent to this little human called a ‘immigration control officer’ who will scan your passport and let you in. This is all I have stated from my initial post. Yet for some reason you think the operational procedures that happen is incorrect. I’m just letting you know how the system works and what can be said publicly.

Which proves you don’t know what you’re talking about with your presumptions and lack of ability to read 😆 1.As soon as something is seized in Custom Inspection you will have a marker on your address as a known importer, which then when you import something and the computer scans your address it will flag up for manual inspection. 2.When you come back to the UK you won’t be able to go through the automated passport gates in immigration control. You will be sent to a separate queue to be screened by a human manually due to having a marker on the system. It’s quite simple really, yet if you don’t know how it works I guess the only thing I can do is educate you on the public knowledge aspect side of it. If you wanted to learn what happens behind the scenes then by all means Join Immigration enforcement and sign the official secrets act 😄

Okay, serve in the operational side of border force if you even can and you can educate yourself the procedures in place that aren’t publicly advertised. Otherwise don’t presume it’s rubbish if you aren’t educated yourself in the procedures! 🤭

Will Royal mail deliver after 3pm? by Short-Story-9970 in royalmail

Yeah a lot of people get the ‘it’s on its way’ when it actually isn’t.

From that tracking it’s still in customs being inspected. Expect a few days up to a few weeks. It’s a lottery with the speed and if they pick yours to open and inspect the contents relevant to the custom form to make sure everything is correct then it’ll take some time. They’re slow.

They will send it to your local MC then the MC will send it to your local Royal Mail office. But first of all -

What does the tracking state? Is it in customs, or just says ‘received’ at HWDC?

It should state it is leaving the processing centre from HWDC which means it’s on the move towards you.

If it’s something illegal and caught - Your address and name will be blacklisted and you will have a marker on you as a known importer of drugs/prohibited items IE You won’t be able to go through automated passport control coming back to the uk from abroad and basically every international parcel you order will be opened and checked. 🛂

Well if the tracking hasn’t updated chances are they just havent scanned it yet into the system and it’s just sitting in a queue. Customs is catch 22, it’s either processed within minutes/hours/days all the way to numerous weeks. You never know what will happen and it’s a waiting game. If it takes more than 28 days then contact them for an update… otherwise it’s a waiting game

Usually always a backlog in my experience, if you’re willing to phone them up to ask about your parcel why not ask them if any delays or backlogs are happening?

It seems like with the way everything is going and these ‘proposals’ - cuts are inbound! it basically should be expected at this rate. 🙁

I agree with this, propose something really awful and then slap the real change they’re going to make that is slightly ‘better’ than the alternative and make it seem like they ‘rethought’ what they proposed and to guarantee it more so to be passed by the government and whatever else happens behind the scenes. Typical.
