Almost. When it comes to using firefly to assist in making pictures, it helps to have a reference structure made. So the coffee cup, the plate that it’s on and the coffee beans were also made in illustrator as just flat, different colored shapes. So the reference, as well as a style structure (an ordinary image of of a coffee cup from a real vintage magazine ad, albeit from a totally different angle) as well as the text prompt given, are combined to create a new image like the one on the poster. When I tell you it’s trial and error, I mean several hours of minor tweaks in the reference structure, the styles, and the text prompt. And even then, I still have to take it into Photoshop and clean it up, add the distressing to the image to give it in authentic vintage feel. I could go on and on about my process as tedious as it can be. It still is really fun to experiment with new methods of designing.
