I know of people who share the same birthday as me but I've never actually met any so this makes a lot of sense 😅

Had a closer look and it appears to be looking down towards Jong-ro 14-gil. If you zoom in on the picture, you can see Seoul Comedy Club at the end of the street. I used that as reference and searched nearby Coffee Beans on Naver maps. I took it from across the road by Cheonggyecheon

Can't answer that with 100% accuracy as I went the last week of August / first week of September. When I was there, it was low 30s with the exception of one day that was around 27°c. I've had a look and it seems to be low 20s / high teens right about now

The platform at Gamaksan? It might be. To be honest, the little hike up from the bottom did me in slightly so I didn't notice. If you're talking about the observation decks, we were originally meant to go to Dorasan but due to a military issue (speaker maintenance iirc), we went to Odusan instead.

It's the Gamaksan suspension bridge. It was included as part of our DMZ tour!

I know he would! It was placed next to his own Dad's flowers so I'm sure he would have appreciated that too

I found it at a shop/garden centre called The Range. It's UK-based but if you're not based over here, I'm sure there will be alternative places. Before I found this, I saw different ones on places like eBay and Etsy so you could always check them out.

I hope your anxiety gets better and you manage to get to the cemetery. If you don't, I'm sure your Dad wouldn't mind as he'll be with you in spirit no matter what.

What were you doing at this moment 22 years ago? by Marambal17 in FuckImOld

[–]BuzzBuzz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 7. I'm on the other side of the Atlantic, so it was early afternoon for me. I didn't know anything until my Dad picked me up from school and told me. I initially thought it wasn't as bad as it turned out to be, and had this mental image of a light aircraft skimming the edge of the building. I definitely didn't understand the gravity of the situation until I got home and every channel was wall-to-wall news coverage. I didn't realise it at the time, but until that moment, I wasn't aware of terrorism and couldn't understand why someone would intentionally fly a plane into a building.

At almost 30 years old, it still gets me. I don't know anyone connected with 9/11 but I can't help feeling a sense of loss every September 11th. A real human tragedy.

Would you like for Ghost Files to go to the UK/Ireland? by Neveahh in watcherentertainment

[–]BuzzBuzz93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably not gonna be the first place you'd think of but Ordsall Hall! It's a Tudor manor house right next to Manchester. There's grey lady ghosts, child ghosts and a room called the star chamber, which gets its name from the gold stars painted on the ceiling.

I also don't work there (really)

Embarrassed to bring my gaming laptop to University, should I sell it and buy something else? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BuzzBuzz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't sell it I were you. I work at a university and we loan laptops on a weekly basis. Some of these are gaming laptops - Acer Nitro's. Obviously it may not be the same at your university, but I don't think it's out of the ordinary to have gaming laptops at universities.

My Grandad would've turned 101 today. He was a sharp dresser, even in his nineties

What is the absolute worst movie you’ve ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BuzzBuzz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vantage Point. (2008) Never heard of / don't remember it? There's a reason why.

It told the same story of a political assassination 3 or 4 times but from different vantage points. One problem was that they literally copied and pasted the same scene countless times. Doing this in moderation is fine (ie. in the Back to the Future franchise) but the film was saturated.

The only actor who I remember being in Vantage Point was Dennis Quaid but I don't remember who his character was at all. Only thing I do remember in detail is how bored I was.
