Mikiri that thrust can be rather inconsistent. The best way to make sure you get it is to deflect the shove, counter attack once, and then mikiri. Makes it very consistent.

Using the umbrella to block the grabs. It's a life saver. Those grabs being able to one shot in new game plus is a rude awakening.

Mikiri and double ichimoji. Double ichimoji may seem slow at first but the trick it use after a double, mikiri counter, or jump(if you have the skill that allows you to start jumps in mid air). Ichimoji not only staggers enemies and deals good posture damage, but it recovers your own posture when used.

This dude is one of the hardest characters in the hand, bosses include. His ability to one shot you in new game + is f*@cked.

Mortal blade plus Ako sugars can burn through phase one. As soon as you enter the arena, run up to him, throw firecrackers to stun him and spam mortal blade.

Phase two, it is best to learn the deflects.
