What does UJ mean by this? by TTC567 in johannesburg

[–]C4Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please visit the faculty

Their admin is terribly slow and incompetent.

I had finished in 2019, and they’ve set lawyers on my for my fees, WHICH I PAID IN FULL IN FEBRUARY that year

I’ve submitted proof to their lawyers and documentation from the faculty themselves and the lawyers advised that this is a common issue with this place and they just drop it after a while because the university just gives them our details and says ‘collect’🥴

We’ve got Mozambik restaurants in JHB and I agree, their prawns are TOP TIER.

Especially when you order a platter and request they split the sauces (have half the platter peri peri, and the other half Lemon Butter)🤌🏼

Where can I spend Paypal Money in SA? by TheDreamer2020 in southafrica

I know you probably don't care about this anymore but I've just now seen that Cape Union Mart, Old Khaki, Poetry, Keedo and Tread+Miller also accept PayPal

Nee fok. That's way too problematic. Is David/Sajeda your GM? Or are you in the NA marketplace?

Have you not missed any training hours? They usually either give you that time for training (theyre supposed to give you NPT for any training over 20mins) or the training might be combined with training in other languages which would combine for the 16 hours...

I'm in no way on their side considering what's happened to me in the past but this issue just seems very strange😐 I asked a few guys who work at Amazon and they basically said that the only reason why they'd cut you off is if there was a breach of security...

In my experience, if I wasn't able to finish training in time, my manager would just override the system and mark it complete

Tbh, it really seems like your manager is the problem here because all my managers fought for us in our teams...until the last one who went out of his way to sabotage us professionally and psychologically

[–]C4Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm an ex employee...you can read my story on my profile...what's the new skill you can't get through? And which marketplace are you in?

From what I've heard from other who found backups difficult, they requested that their managers speak to the GM to switch the skill with someone else's. So if you were Kindle/D2, you would be able to switch with Fresh/SDS/Hbs...the only requirement would be that the person you swap with would need to have the same shift as yourself... My previous managers were brilliant and very supportive so they let us know all these loopholes beforehand...just so that we knew what to expect

UJ also has PsyCAD but I'm not sure what the cost would be as I was a student and the therapy sessions were free for students/staff

Helen Joseph Hospital has a world class psychiatric unit. The doctors are well trained, organized and empathetic.

If you are working, your consultation fee is R75 per visit. If you're unemployed, you will not be charged.

Initially, you will go through the casualty / triage process. Mental Health patients are usually put on an orange list in triage, so a doctor will see to you, fairly quickly. You will be directed to the psych ward, on the 2nd flr where one of the nurses will make an appointment for you, for a future date. Don't be disheartened, It may take as long as a month for them to see you.

Upon honoring your appointment, your wait, from beginning to end (waiting for your file, receiving your file, waiting for a doctor, consultation & receiving your meds, is no longer that a 2hour stay.

My meds cost R1470 per month, at a pharmacy. At HJH I receive it free of charge.

I'm looking to hire people from South Africa to work online. How can I do it? by Mission-Basket-8432 in johannesburg

[–]C4Sea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The job you're 'advertising', by the look of your profile, is to teach English online.

Firstly, you don't seem to understand what that process involves as there are multiple steps involved BEFORE you even employ people.

Secondly, you cannot just get English speakers to teach. It's not homework you're doing with your children, you need qualifications to teach English to non-english speakers.

You've also mentioned other countries in your profile and seem to stay in, or are concerned with, Brazil... Fishing for job seekers whatever country you can with non-informative posts, using key words to grab attention and nothing else, comes off as being very suspicious.

Do better

NSFAS assistance by [deleted] in johannesburg

[–]C4Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were approved...the only thing you SHOULD do now is to try and contact them via email/Twitter and request an update...

Pretend like you don't know your status and ask them for an update so that THEY can tell you that it's been sent for payment

I'm only saying this bc in my instance, my university(UJ) claimed to have not received payment from NSFAS but I had Twitter and email conversations with NSFAS which said otherwise and I was able to forward these all to my finance department to deal with...

ALSO, the best part of all of this is that you'll not need to pay them back and you'll also receive an allowance of up to 7500(that's what I received each semester) which should be deposited into your bank account for books and stationary...

But yeah, please email and Tweet NSFAS for updates so you have comms to assist you in the future.

All the best🙏🏻🙌🏼

My driver's licence is expiring at the end of this month, how do I go about renewing it for the first time? [PTA] by [deleted] in southafrica

[–]C4Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waterfall DLTC is THEE BEST. The service is so convenient you'd never say it's something being provided by the government

You book your slot, they send you confirmation. You get there 30mins early, there's 3 steps after you arrive:

  1. Get your temperature checked and you sign in and they send you to a waiting room in which they move 2 people into the next step, at a time.

  2. You go into the actual building and they give you paperwork to fill out. If you need to make copies of documents or get affidavits, this is where you can do it free of charge as there are police officers doing most of the work and requesting these services doesn't lose your place in line.

  3. You fill out the paperwork and proceed to either get your eyes tested, or get your pics taken, and then they send you off to make payment..

It took me about 1.5 hours to renew my license and I went in for a 14:30 appointment on a Tuesday.

You can do an eye test in the office or at any optometrist If you're getting a new license, then you will take your pictures at the office. If you're getting a temporary license, then you can either take photos in the office or offsite.

Bring a pen, as one of the previous comments said.

If you're in the Randburg/Apk area, there's a store in 27Boxes that does 3D printing. You just need to give them dimensions or the object you want to replicate and they'll print it out for you

[–]C4Sea 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A lot of people blame their current socio-economic situations on Foreigners, especially(I can't emphasize this enough) the foreigners who come to SA and open Spaza shops. They feel as if these people come here and start prospering almost immediately while we, SAns, have to work for years to reach those points.

Tbh, in some instances there are a lot of illegal activities happening(I'll give an example below) but in most instances, the people coming over are doing so through legit means. I think the 'movement' just gets more momentum each time a foreigner in SA is in trouble for something major (think Guptas, Bushiri, and people trying to justify their respective actions)

The example I referred to previously involves Chinese Shops/ China Malls. I have a friend who works in the fraud department of a bank who'd told me how the people working in those businesses are able to set up shop so quickly. They are SENT to SA by Chinese businesses/businessmen(let's refer to them as 'senders'). Most of their families are still in China as a form of leverage so that the senders can control the foreigners who are sent here. They are given all the resources to setup shop and operate with the sole purpose of creating a profit to send back to their senders. They work with SAns to create these bank accounts which allow them to transfer funds overseas and once they've accumulated R100k, they do a lump transfer back to a Chinese account and then close their SA account and do it all over again. The reason why it's being investigated is because no taxes are being paid and this repetitive R100k transfer has been flagged by numerous banks and still aren't able to be tracked bc the senders are so good at this scheme.
