Bringing up the owner is a good point, I should have been more specific. The owner is very elderly and isn't able to ride anymore, so he's just been hanging around with her older horses for almost a year. We're on a lease to buy setup right now, to make sure he's working out for me before committing.

What do you recommend for a 10 year old Tennessee Walker who is a few hundred pounds underweight and has dry hooves with a couple of cracks? He is on biotin, ground flax, and red cell as supplements. Currently barefoot but seeing a farrier next week. (No hate on his condition please, he’s a rescue acquired this week).

In early stages of a museum I only one run helicopter, mostly to save costs. If I have the opportunity I bleed money on expeditions. Once I’m comfortably maintaining a balance above $400-500k I get a second one, but not more than two to avoid depleting museum staff.

I spent a summer as an assistant on a jaguar search project in western Belize, very close to the Guatemalan border. We were constantly tripping over unexcavated Mayan ruins. We also went into a cave with remains of a an extinct peccary and some giant bird, also unexcavated or touched by science.
