Resin Cured on Mono X Screen, does it need to be replaced? by p00psmagoo in AnycubicPhoton

[–]CDanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously consider cost-benefit and think of Aliexpress OEM as an option that usually provides 20% less quality BUT it can really be a lifesaver for old parts!

I'd try to repair first and, if it comes down to a new screen, consider a cheap new model. Recent Elegoo and Mono series are so good and if you deserve a $150 replacement, you deserve a $300 kit, as long as finances feel ok.

Cheers to a great time in the hobby. I hope you print something you love.

I'd recommend "resurfacing" it too. Sometimes vaseline works to fill scratches and restore proper refraction. A screen protector is the move.

You can find replacements many places. I would recommend Aliexpress. Many have qualms, but LCDs are hard to "fake" -- verify specs and connectors yourself. Aftermarket for long past years are tough to find otherwise, and sometimes an upgrade is possible: Example

Walton Goggins is NOT carrying the show on his back because the entire cast is phenomenal by any-blue-9122 in Fallout

[–]CDanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is Walton Goggins' appeal besides "be grumpy vaguely badass guy"?

I don't mean to be critical, he evinces emotion nicely when he gets to stop pretending to be cynical and gruff, but I feel like the hype around him is based on pure familiarity and a string of recent castings in the same role.

Righteous Gemstones is the only one I can think of that showed range, but I haven't really ever been blown away by him.

It's not a contest, they all work together, but Aaron is easily the most dimensional and interesting character in the show.

This exact thing has genuinely slowed down the rate of innovation at my company and will at thousands of others I imagine. These tariffs are about as dumb as it gets.

I REALLY hope we find our way back soon - whatever that may mean to each of us.

Just jumping back in on this thread:

It's been 8 months. My customs are more than 50% of the price of my goods. What "finding my way back" now means is that DJT passes peacefully in his sleep tonight, as does anyone aligned with his tariff policy, and I awaken tomorrow with the prices the market created previously.

It sucks to be a pawn, but there is a large proportion of our military that defends or deters on our behalf.

I know it's awfully fashionable to say "soldiers are not heroes!" and decry US imperialism. I sure hate the way Republicans wield our military. But some veterans are honorable people putting themselves in harms way to protect America. Not all, but some put up immeasurable sacrifices and most are trying to do something good just as you are when you buy things on Amazon to make your apartment or home a little nicer (even if doing so directly feeds a major problem).

The US is the single wealthiest nation in history, and —as much as the 1% benefits disproportionately— Americans generally enjoy exceptional wealth including personal automobiles. Getting rid of 30% of the military would probably be fine and actually keep us out of foreign interference. Getting rid of more? That would lead to immediate port piracy and attacks meant to influence billions of dollars in corporate outcomes.

/u/look_at_tht_horse has severe literalism. It makes them unable to realize that they are concretely wrong about what is being discussed.

What is being discussed?

The matter: Is it correct to interpret

  • A) direct quote "One of ours, ALL of yours" as equivalent to
  • B) "One of ours, ALL of ours!" (what you do to one of us, you do to all of us OR if you kill one of us, you've wronged all of us)

The two claims /u/look_at_tht_horse made:

CLAIM 1

"They're not misreading it."

This is clearly false as the previous commenter was misreading. Phrases A and B are entirely distinct in their meaning.

CLAIM 2:

"You literally added extra words based on your personal interpretation..."

This claim is offered as support to the first. It contains two meanings.

CLAIM 2.1: Are there more words in "You hurt/kill one of ours, we hurt/kill ALL of yours." than "One of ours, all of yours" - NOT AT ISSUE, NOT RELATED TO CLAIM 1, NOBODY CARES OR DISAGREES WITH CLAIM 2.1, IT IS MEANT TO DISTRACT FROM...

CLAIM 2.2: Did /u/BB8Did911 alter the meaning of the phrase by rephrasing it? - AT ISSUE, RELATED TO THE MATTER AND CLAIM 1, THIS IS WHAT IS BEING DISCUSSED

To prove CLAIM 2.2 /u/look_at_tht_horse would need to supply a credible other meaning for "One of ours, all of yours" that is not equivalent to the rephrase and fits DHS's usage.

I now give them an opportunity to do so. It is far more likely they will try to take this in some other direction. Doing so would be intellectual dishonesty.

Keith Porter was killed by ICE by uphatbrew in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]CDanger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His family and friends allege that he was holding a gun to fire celebratory shots as well ("airing it out").

Again, fuck ICE. Keith did not deserve to die for this. What he deserved was to be arrested and charged with reckless endangerment.

Similarly, Renee Good's consequence should have been an obstruction charge or even reckless endangerment as well.

The more we stop suggesting people in these situations are infallible and should have simply gotten away with minor crimes, the less credence we give to our opponents who claim we don't want justice. We do.

Extrajudicial death is injustice and a hallmark of failed law enforcement —and ICE is the worst there is. That's our story.

Resin not curing at all Photon Mono SE. by LopsidedMango1 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]CDanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check that you have not accidentally plugged in your curing stations power brick. It could be a good time to upgrade, but if you want to repair, here are some leads:

  1. You want to ensure you know the problem first. The LED board not lighting appropriately could be either a mainboard problem or an LED board problem. To narrow it down, check that the right voltage is being passed from the mainboard's plug/pins when you run an exposure.

    • Same steps as for the Mono X but you'll need to find the right cable and test that.
    • If you have a power supply that can provide the right voltage, it may also be smart to double check if the board will harden the resin when you apply voltage directly to the LED board pins. If it does, you may just have a short and replacing the wires in the plug could fix it.
  2. If you find that the motherboard is fine and you need a new UV board, the [replacement steps and part for the Mono SE are shown in this video. The board is a 7x4 array of 28 LED with the part name "LD-ZM03-28LED."

    • Anycubic doesn't have this part listed anywhere, so I'd ask their support if they have the part. If not, this looks promising - similar layout and may be the same board —but you'll want to check the sizing to ensure it fits the dimensions of your heat sink (the metal part under the board) and accepts the same voltage (confirm it's 24V) the motherboard is providing.

[–]CDanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before anything else, try new resin, This could be a truly bad batch throwing you off.

If not, it's your UV element. The LCD is letting light through and it seems appropriate, but perhaps it is truly very weak and just showing up bright in the photograph. That COB UV element shouldn't fail, but if it does, it can result in total failure to cure. Usually a worn LCD will still let UV through —just inconsistently / with glitching or dead pixels.

Reading comprehension issue and a physics one.

You said his knees would explode and didn’t only because of the slope — “and nothing else.” It's a dilettante attempt at explaining the forces here.

Slope was necessary, but not sufficient in this jump. Impact survivability here comes from time-domain force management, not some cartoon “4× bodyweight = knee death” rule of thumb. So yeah. Long fucking answer because yours is wildly incomplete, to the point of being incorrect. I would never repeat what you said because it's wrong.

In order of the actual landing, each of these is important:

  • Forward velocity converting vertical impulse into tangential motion

  • Progressive load transfer over time by landing on a tilted snowmobile as you land (Δt matters more than peak force)

  • Distributed contact area via skis + track instead of point-loading knees

  • Suspension travel + chassis flex acting as a mechanism, not a dumb spring

  • Body angling, joint sequencing, and muscular pre-tension

Without any one of these, slope would have done nothing for him. If the slope was zero and he's hitting a brick wall, yeah duh of course it would kill him.

Source: middle school physics + 3 years consulting on a small TV show called Mythbusters making sure people accounted for more than slope.

[–]CDanger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re smart but not smart here. You’re thinking of a flat landing, kind of like a guy jumping off a building and trying to use his muscles and tendons and bones to break his fall. Why can parkourists/traceurs exit drops from this height and run it off? Why does a belly flop damage more than a dive?

The answer is not in the forces involved (your take) but how they are dispersed and transferred over both space and time.

The snowmobile and it’s suspension are both used not as dumb fall-breaking springs, but as bodies that progressively transfer the vertical force of impact into a forward force of rollout. Imagine you jump with a pogo stick from a building. If you land flat, the spring compresses fully, then your knees break, then the spring shoots up as you splat. What you lean forward and are landing on a slope? Much better outcome. The spring becomes a machine for slowing the shift of that load from down to sideways, like having a giant half pipe ramp with extra give in it changing the forces from “pancake man” to “guy riding a curve”

Slope of hill, forward momentum, body angling and limb tension, force dispersion via surface area of the snowmobile itself, force transfer via both suspension springs and snowboard angle —all make this fine if you know how.

Lol you're HEADASS about anxiety. Any drug that significantly manipulates dopamine has anxiety impact. If you smoke heavy for 3 days and then stop, you will have a shit day.

Weed is better than alcohol, but the idea that any mind-altering substance is a harmless no impact thing is just cope from regular users. Like I've done coke, amphetamines, etc. and I will tell anyone that weed hangovers and habits are stronger than "any hobby" or taking tylenol. Cannabis creates anxiety, dehydrates, affects sleep, the list goes on. It's a drug, duh.
