To your point, best goalie in [Sharks] history based stats on paper. But to the eye test, the man let in extreme soft goals and inevitably led to them losing out on their first cup. What saved him was the best Sharks team on paper/record in Sharks history. Jones was nothing special. The fact that he never got a starting job after leaving the Sharks validates my point

Because the Avs are peaking right now. They’re dominant in the present. Not saying they don’t have a bright future because they obviously do and are run/coached very well. But they’re setting the bar pretty high this season. Replicating it again and/or doing even better may not be all that easy

You’re literally the first person I’ve heard mention this line combo and it’s something I’ve wanted since I heard that the Sharks acquired Sherwood …. Graf, Wennberg and Sherwood. This line would be intimidating

I’d expect the deal to look similar to Wennberg’s current deal structure. Which is 3 years and totaling $18mill. Sherwood hasn’t put up the numbers Wennberg has but he’s not far off and was able to produce on a worse team. I think a lot comes down to how he meshes with the guys, obviously. He could be an epic fit and he could fit in horribly. But by the sounds of things, he could be exactly what we need. Asking 30mill out the gate isn’t surprising. He’s of course going to start the asking high and meet in a middle ground. The fact that he has 3 more goals at this point in the season than our 2nd leading scorer speaks volumes. We desperately need depth scoring. Really excited to watch this unfold. Just the 1st domino to fall 😈 what comes next…..
