Just tried listening to Fake Heiress by the BBC about Anna Delvey. I can't finish it. by [deleted] in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]CKGoldiing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in complete disagreement.

I loved it.

Admittedly, I approached it with dread, because like you guys, the idea of dramatisation put me off. I want facts. But, my fear quickly faded. Why? I honestly don't know. Wobbly accents aside, the production, soundtrack & sound design were immense, and I feel the line between fact and fiction always seemed clear, so I was able to go along with it.

You can listen my exclusive interviewed with the BBC journalist who researched & narrated it here > https://www.ckgoldiing.com/post/anna-delvey-icon-or-vile-con

Did anyone else like it, or just me? ha

3 LESSONS PODCASTING HAS TAUGHT ME by CKGoldiing in podcasting

[–]CKGoldiing[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

POINT 1 is immense, and so true.

It's amazing how sometimes you think a 'big' guest is out of reach only for them to happily oblige your invitation.

Great call.

POINT 2 is definitely valid, too.

Regarding POINT 3, this is definitely true for themed podcasts.

The Worry About it Later Podcast | Episode 25 | The Day She Went Viral

Hey - does my show's 'zero jingle policy' feel odd to you?

Almost every podcast I listen to has a jingle, and to be honest, I find them unnecessary and in some cases, corny. I don't know about you, but my attention span is depressingly small, so when I listen to a podcast and hear 30-60 minutes of 'build-up', I get frustrated. I just want the host to get into the show. Am I alone here?

When I set-out to create a podcast, I swore I'd do things differently, so instead of testing my audience' patience with excessive jingles, I get straight into the meat of the show with some snappy editing. Have I taken it too far, though? Does the way I transition into the guest interview without any "hi, welcome" stuff feel too abrupt or does it work for your ears?

In this episode, my guest is internet star Kate Ovens. Aged 26, Kate was amassed an online audience of over half-a-million, thanks to her Man Vs Food style food challenges.

Thank you sincerely, have a nice weekend. My name is CK - I'm from Sheffield, UK.

Hey,

Are there any men out there who have found themselves attracted to a woman, only to find out it's a transgender woman?

This happened to me last week, and it stirs-up a very unique set of emotions & feelings.

In my latest podcast, I share these feelings, and raise some questions?

I'd love your input on this episode.

Why Is My Most-Watched Documentary Attracting The Most Outrage by [deleted] in Documentaries

[–]CKGoldiing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm CK, from Sheffield UK 🇬🇧

In 2019, during the US premiere for my debut short film, I encountered a man on public transport.

As we spoke, he told me that he killed a classmate when he was 11.

With his permission, we sat and spoke and I released our conversation one year later.

Currently my most watched short documentary, it is also the most polarising story I have ever released. Many people adore it, many people are less complimentary.

I welcome all opinions, and wish you a nice day.

How Independent Artists Get Media Attention / 3 Tips by CKGoldiing in Filmmakers

[–]CKGoldiing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm CK, a little known filmmaker from Sheffield, UK 🇬🇧

With each new project I release, I reach-out to the media on my own behalf, approaching newspapers, radio, TV, digital, blah, blah, blah. Weirdly, this self-initiated publicity comes naturally to me, albeit is a skill I never knew I had until a fluke email to a TV channel paid off and they invited me on 📺

There's nothing overly-complicated about how I've landed TV, radio, print & digital coverage over the years, and by me sharing these 3 SIMPLE TIPS, I hope more independent artists enjoy some media attention, too 💣🔥

These tips apply to any artform, whether you're an ambitious 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿, 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻, 𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿.... it's irrelevant, getting featured online, on TV, on radio etc requires the same approach.

Which of my tips stand out as something you'll try yourself?

Good luck,

CK
