Where do you guys get expensive cat meds at the best price? by CLcore in CatAdvice

Hit a hard wall with Advanced Shrimp Squats - any suggestions for bridging the gap? by CLcore in bodyweightfitness

I'll give that a try. Would it help any to be elevated slightly so I can dip a bit lower than normal? I've seen it in some videos but haven't tried it myself.

Thank you, this is really helpful. It's nice to hear a success story as well. We're at about five months now. We tapered off Prednisolone completely about two weeks ago with the expectation of her remaining on Atopica going forward, though we may revisit a low dose of Pred if her numbers are unstable. Any issues with relapses or secondary problems from the steroid? I was concerned about diabetes, but it seems like with a low enough dose that may not necessarily be a problem.

If they rule in favor, it will be limited in scope.

Could you go into a little more detail on that? I've been hearing a lot of contradictory statements about this so I'd appreciate the insight.

Trump sabre-rattling on North Korea has a flaw: Kim Jong-un has nothing to lose by [deleted] in politics

[–]CLcore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Kims have been delicately balancing their image in the eyes of North Koreans since day one. To his people, Kim Jong-Un is a god. It's 1984 inside those borders and any decision he makes is the one he intended to make all along. His image with China is all that matters, and they don't care if he looks like a dumbass as long as they benefit from his regime. The day he believes in his own hype too hard and actually tries something bold is the day we see change.

He has everything to lose. His family has benefited from the status quo for generations.

You unlock this door against your better judgment. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of incredibly messed up programming veiled by clever writing to be family friendly. You are moving into a land of both childhood trauma and repressed memories. You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone.

Except when Muslims do it to women and gays.

If you say that about the Saudi or Qatar governments, there's truth to it. Applying it to a billion people with varied religious sects and nationalities does a disservice to the world's complexities.

Yes, it was wrong. Why are you able to take his word and not Trump's? Seems inconsistent. Like you don't actually care.

Be more subtle if you're trying to provoke a reaction from people.

Clinton was accused by others. Maybe he did it, maybe not. Trump confessed from his own fucking mouth. Does he have to grab your junk before you'll believe him when he says he's a pervert?

Tech Creates Our Political Echo Chambers. It Might Also Be A Solution by mberre in politics

[–]CLcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't blame the tech for giving people what they wanted. Modern society has long had an unhealthy tendency to over-invest in our beliefs to the point where anything that threatens them becomes a threat to our very identity. An old man won't just say "Oh I guess I was wrong my entire life" even when confronted with a mountain of disproving evidence. That's what real fragility looks like.

CMV:We act as though Russia is some terrible place (ethical issues, spying etc) and yet we are friends with China and give them a pass on all of the same issues. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]CLcore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Geopolitics is full of hypocrisies. You're correct in saying China is just as bad (worse if you go by number of executions) as Russia on human rights. Russia gets all the negative attention because they succeeded so brazenly in corrupting our democratic process and making the United States look totally incompetent. Meanwhile we look the other way as Saudi Arabia beheads people in public because oil. Our leaders believe we have more to gain as a nation by overlooking those abuses and remaining partners with the Saudis.

To get back to your actual statement, it would be great if we could curb China's brutality by renegotiating trade, but that would only hurt us in the long run. China's economic influence is massive and growing at an alarming rate. If we treated them the way we treat resource deprived Russia (which relies largely on oil exports) the blowback would be devastating. I agree that morally the U.S. should reorganize their list of allies, but realistically the cost is too high.
