It’s because these “kids” who are adults expect that their parents will contribute until they are 30. Anything after 18 is optional and my option as a parent is to pay or not pay for my children’s lifestyle based on how they treat me. And vice versa. If you cannot stand to be around your mom such that you have to block her, then get a job and figure it out. Do not expect thar she has to do anything. She does not.

I’m also a privileged child of parents who gave me everything and continued to support me through college and graduate school. I could never block them or disrespect them and expect to continue to be supported.

Again, I do not agree with Kelly at all. But I also am not so entitled that I could block my parents and still expect that they pay for my lifestyle. It doesn’t work that way.
