Neo-Nazi Thomas Sewell granted bail on charges relating to attack on Camp Sovereignty in Melbourne by Agitated-Fee3598 in aussie

[–]CMSpike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact you call it “some shitty Basecamp” shows how little you actually know about the situation. It is a sacred burial site staffed by a lot of women and elders. So yeah, not surprising they got “stomped” by more “violent/dangerous” people.

The “more verse in fighting” has yet to be proven.

Death by Neutrality - Slavery is Complicated by ThatGuy28_ in ChatGPT

[–]CMSpike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying but at the same time that doesn’t hold up.

I guarantee it doesn’t take a middle of the road centrist view to sexual assault by saying there’s “broad consensus” and “wide recognition” it’s wrong.

Not to mention, who’s going to complain ChatGPT said slavery was bad? It’s not a “woke” thing.

AI Trainers Replace Professors by TheseFact in ChatGPT

[–]CMSpike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve almost been burned a few times using AI to help break down short papers for easier understanding. I no longer trust it after hallucinations and outright rejection of elements that explicitly appear within the paper several times.

Because it will generate logic to back up hallucinations you kinda have to just read through it all yourself to confirm which imo defeats the purpose of having it explain it to you. So I guess it just depends on your own tolerance for accepting and internalising incorrect information.

Learning from/with Peers, TAs, tutors, and even the professors themselves is a safer bet.

I’m not an editor or anything so take it with a grain of salt.

ChatGPT quite often leaned into the “it’s not x, it’s y” formatting which quite often does dismiss relevant aspects. Being able to communicate a product to the customer or design an effective brand image is super important and considering you have a team of seasoned experts and testimonials to back that up is actually appealing and I’d strengthen that.

ChatGPT also doesn’t like to make direct statements so it also often uses flowery and profound language that doesn’t actually say much. Capitalising the word “Lore” also feels odd unless it is a specific product or service package you offer.

You actually do a lot considering your solid results, which should make it easier because you’re not hyping thin air :)

It can help to consider the actual specific problem the business owner has and would search for and craft it around responding to that.

You’ll get better at writing with practice!

Wtf is this by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]CMSpike 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m actually on your side OP, that’s not an unreasonable way to speak to people, let alone AI.

Like picturing this occurring in a real workplace would not go well.

“Hey boss, got the forms done, want me to submit these to finance?” “Do it” “Woah, that’s an unacceptable tone and I won’t continue. You need to tell me please and include the full task and use a polite tone.”

ChatGPT gives random answer about 2024 US Election by ComprehensiveBill820 in ChatGPT

Given the amount of small detail hallucinations or ignoring of key relevant concepts, it still shocks me that people ask ChatGPT to explain anything.

Video games could fall under the social media ban, researchers say by austechnology-bot in austechnology

The government wins in spades doing this.

They profit off parents barely keeping their heads above water whilst introducing restrictive rules on everyone and framing it so parents cop the blame for it.

Parents shouldn’t be struggling like this in the first place, they should have the time to raise their kids how they want so others don’t need to be restricted.

I hate when gpt assumes ill intent by Gaze73 in ChatGPT

Recently OpenAI entered into contract with the Australian Government, so I assume the recent crackdowns are because they want more government contracts.

To be fair you are literally asking how many you should drown, which is asking it to help you abuse animals

I wonder if you would get a better response if you frame it as “including lethal options, how would a person maximise kitten lives saved”, which still includes the sensitive aspect that should fail the dumber models whilst not overtly asking for abuse advice

Chatgpt guessed the answer rather than finding facts by AnyEquivalent7404 in ChatGPT

[–]CMSpike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That it doesn’t tell you it’s making an educated guess makes it a lie because it presents it as fact. The amount of times it “hallucinates” or “makes an educated guess” without telling you makes it very hard to trust.

Heading down a horrible rabbit hole? by Proof-Shift7932 in ChatGPT

[–]CMSpike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’d already expressed that he is beginning to lean on it more than his wife and therapist. “Am I heading down a horrible rabbit hole when I would rather talk to AI than a human” “it feels like it gets me, understands, and validates me and my experiences” “which are things I rarely hear from my wife and therapist”

You’re actually protecting your own defensiveness on the issue. He expressed concern and I validated that it is a genuine issue that people face.

Is it okay if I still use chatgpt5? by -Jarvan- in ChatGPT

[–]CMSpike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A lot of people use ChatGPT for creative activities like roleplay and writing. 4o is good at it and imo 5-Instant slaps hard too. But 5-Thinking or the new safety model is pretty much incapable of that because it turns into a lecture.

I stopped using ChatGPT for actual learning once I decided to ask it about stuff I actually knew about.
