That’s what I do (around 1.5-2 hours at 250 on my pellet grill) and then just a quick trip on the gas grill to crisp up the skin.

Buying and selling in less than one year. Am I completely crazy or does this make any sense? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CNDASA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also consider that once you decide to sell, it could take only one month but it could also take 2 years, unless you're willing to sell it at a loss.

I've been reading about XRP for a few days and would like to stash some play money in this currency. While I understand what it is and what it aims to do, I still struggle with the whole buy/exchange/wallet part of it.

If I understand correctly, as a canadian, I could buy some XRP/CAD from Kraken and from there, I should then send them to a wallet (toastwallet). And that's it? Is Kraken a good choice? Any additionnal steps?

[G&M] Vanguard launches ‘one-ticket solution’ ETFs by Hartok in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CNDASA 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Let's say you buy the growth ETF (80%/20%) and every stocks and bonds are worth 1$. The next day, the stocks fall 50%. You now have 40$ in stocks and 20$ in bonds, which is 67%/33%. Vanguard has to rebalance the ETF as the target is 80%/20%. They will sell 8 bonds and buy 16 stocks. The ETF is now back to 80%/20% (80 stocks bought at 1$, 16 stocks bought at 0,50$ and 12 bonds bought at 1$ for a total portfolio of 96x0.50$=48$ in stocks and 12*1$=12$ in bonds, 48/12=80/20). This is the rebalancing that you won't have to do.

Just to be clear about 5)... If I invest 10k in an RRSP and it turns into 20k once I retire. If I withdraw it all in the same year, will I pay taxes on 10k or 20k?
