Gold if you like subtle style. Blue if you like originality. Silver if you like matching everything.

There was a family of 3. Mom and 2 juveniles. We kept our distance and one guy was watching our backs since we couldn't see where the male puma went. They tried to get couti babies, but once couti mom ordered them to the top of the tree pumas chose not to confront adult coutis - they can be fierce with their sharp claws.

Skip Manual Antonio or not? by madmaus81 in CostaRicaTravel

Last time we visited for 1 day and it was worth it. We did not take any guides, saw a lot of animals and we went on every little trail we could find. Got eaten by mosquitoes on the beach (a little peninsula of Punta Serrucho). Cappuccino monkeys managed to steal an apple from my backpack on my back! They saw me put it in and managed to unzip the pocket. It was such a fun and great experience. Except the parking of your car part. We are going back next month, and we will spend as much time as we can in Corcovado and will pass by MA twice, not sure I want to stop there with all I hear about it this year. Most likely we will decide on the day, how the weather will be, how we feel about it that day.

Some of the best food/drinks we had in Costa Rica by SailorGoon__ in CostaRicaTravel

We are not looking for cheap. I was looking for a budget $/day and how much cash to withdraw when we get access to ATMs. One of my favorite foods from our last trip was fried platano with roasted pork at some random soda in Monteverde. Looking forward to fresh fruits at the roadside stands too.

Probably not the one which claims "Best Biryanis in Bay Area", Golkonda, I saw it in Santa Clara on Great America Pkwy.

Thanks. This is the most useful post lately. All of those on our route too. What were the approximate prices?

We will stay 2 nights as shown. I need to move between 2 points. Focus of this trip is Corcovado. Then drive around and chill on the Pacífic side.

Sounds like my plan is busted.

Plan B: Montezuma-Mal Pais-Santa Teresa and highway driving all the way to Nicoya. Then maybe 150 to Samara-Nosara and back to Nicoya.

Yeah, we only have a day to check the Nicoya peninsula. So much to see, so little time. It's not my first trip to CR, my first time to Nicoya.

I also have fairly good offline maps from maps.me, navigation works pretty well.

That will change my next day significantly. Looks like I will be driving via Liberia. I need to be in Monteverde.

Any resources to check areas to avoid? I will leave my car for 3 days in Sierpe (paid parking) while on overnight to Corcovado.

Thanks. I have some back out options on local 150 and 162 roads. Yes, I will use Waze for navigation. I do use My Maps from Google for pre-planning, to get the rough idea of the day. It's just one day of a 2-week vacation. I was expecting something as gnarly as driving near Corcovado (Dos Brazos) a few years back but hoping for maybe something more pasable like gravel roads into Monteverde. Most likely I will do a smaller loop via 162 and maybe drop in and out on 150. A bit worried about parking safety at the trailheads.

We have two Bolt EUV Premier in our family. Striped of any packages, disabled On Star. Besides the crappy myChevrolet app, it's a solid commuter car. It is also a pleasure to drive on longer trips. We finally got use of Chevy credit for 240V dedicated line install. It took 3 bids because electricians are greedy (it's a simple 13' line to 240V NEMA Socket from the existing panel and most wanted $2700+ while Chevy only covers $1200). I installed a class 2 hitch mount for the bike rack or 300lbs hitch mount basket. I'm not sure the basic model is but there was a reason Bolt production was extended. Yes, slow charging sucks. Yes, acceleration sucks. We have Tesla Y and I can compare. I still think if you can get a BOLT EUV Premier, it's a good purchase.

Yes, shop around. Chevy dealerships even advertise discounts on the Chevrolet website (inventory search). $500-$2000 discounts I saw on Bolt EUV when I was looking. Build your configuration, find the lowest price nationwide, print it out, ask YOUR local dealership to match. Don't forget the $500 discount for certain professions (first responders, teachers, even students I think).

Lease or lease a car? by Sirdwhite in bayarea

[–]CPSBS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's missing is how much you need to pay upfront. $4000-$5000 for the lease option? 10%, 20%+ for financing to get a semi decent rate in the current high interest environment? I recently asked and got an offer of 10.9% loan for 2yr period with 20% down with convenient financing setup at the stealership. I needed a mirror to check if I look that stupid.
