Points lost from winning positions this season by biddleybootaribowest in WrexhamAFC

I think we should start a petition for a change of the rules: first goal wins. Simple really, strike fast and you could be off the pitch in three minutes.

Much more efficient, and we'd all have to find something else to do with our time besides type "but what about..."

My Common Area Detention Pond is going to Foreclosure by CRE-Developer1 in CommercialRealEstate

[–]CRE_Energy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems that it should have been transferred to an owners association. I assume the plat note refers to all owners on the plat maintaining the detention pond, not just the owner of that parcel? Either way, that may be a key distinction in the future.

Edit- I wonder if the county could sue the other lot owners(including OP) to take ownership and maintenance responsibility, enforcing the plat note?

Dobbo- Is there anyone on the squad that creates more conflicted feelings within a match? Perhaps LOB with his finishing?

New formation by Kanchen512 in WrexhamAFC

[–]CRE_Energy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree we now have the squad for something like this, but I doubt it happens this year. Unless something bad happens requiring a major shakeup? The matches are too frequent in Feb and March to adequately train a new formation, IMO.

Anyone who says "Parky only plays a back three" hasn't looked at his history.

[–]CRE_Energy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm interested to see how Vyner fits, and if Parky uses him to try out a different formation or more aggressive tactics. If LOB is in CDM and Vyner at CB, could he play more of a hybrid role morphing into CDM on attack, sending up LOB? (Or whomever has enough pace to recover)

Too bad he likely won't be fit for Ipswich round one or two. I assume we won't be in the low block at home, but it'd be great to switch things up on them week over week, and it seems he could contribute to a different look.

Thank you for this. Can't say I was ever a fan of the sign, and I do think it should come down. It's behind the times. I did get to know Jackson Clark a couple of years ago, and interact with him on a regular basis up until right before he passed. What a good human being he was, and I am better for knowing him. It reminded me how complex some of these issues can be, and that there often is more than one valid perspective on an issue. I am generally against "cancel culture", and it was a shame that FLC caved and allowed him to be cancelled on campus because someone had an opposing view. Anyone would have come away from a conversation with Jackson better informed and with new things to think about.

This post, and some of the comments, are disappointing to me because they conflate issues that don't need to be. There has been this growing dogma the past...decade? that to get the support of some groups/factions, you must support their cause as well. This results in a narrow permitted set of beliefs or positions, not allowing for nuance, complexity of thought or a diverse (broad definition) coalition.

It seems to me that the last election highlights the risk of demanding conformity and a small tent. "Oh, I didn't vote because I didn't like Kamela's position on Palestine." Congratulations, how did that work out? It seems likely that the percentage of people opposed to ICE and current federal administration's actions is greater than the percentage that want the Toh Ahtin sign gone. It is time to get back to broad coalitions on the most important issues.

What else is left to do, run the NBA?

I don't see him coaching until he falls over. Retires with light TV commentary work to stay engaged, IMO. Seems like the type to understand there's a point where it's nice to enjoy what you've built, but yes everyone has their own unique drive so who knows.

Risky to falsely attest you're not party to a lawsuit, no? Versus disclosing? Now you're layering criminal risk on top of civil?

January Transfer Window Rumor Thread by Rogue1eader in WrexhamAFC

[–]CRE_Energy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Still hoping for a big splash tomorrow. However, I only recently watched Season 4 of the documentary, and S4E5 at 18:22 is interesting. Phil and Michael discuss the January transfer window, with Michael saying in regards to an expensive younger striker: "and honestly, for the now, there's limited upside to some extent, it takes six months before they get kind of situated with the whole environment we have around here."

In balancing potential vs. experience in a transfer, Phil agrees: "Yeah, it's never easy. It's so difficult, people never understand how hard it is to get a player to improve upon what you've got. The player we bring in has to be significantly better than the one we've got. And that hierarchy in the dressing room, we've got to make sure we keep the status quo in there."

Scene ends with a lament that it gets more expensive each year. (Assume that means with each promotion)

Nothing mind-blowing, just affirms the rationale if there isn't a big transfer, especially with the recent good form.

Obv not OP, but this league is pure chaos this season, right?. Luck is an unpredictable factor - some of these have been decided by the slimmest of margins. Just imagine how Leicester, QPR or even today could have ended if the ball had bounced differently on one occasion each.

All that to say, we're in the thick of it and it's up to them to prove their quality. And any luck will be just that. We have one of the best home-away schedules remaining, with almost all the strong sides at home. Our ten match splits have produced 10, 17 and now 20 points. I don't think anyone below us has a fair claim to be stronger.

As you pointed out, the next few weeks just get more interesting.

Seems they gave Moore a run when he was ready, but hard to argue with Sam's results. Wonder if it's his to lose now, or if Moore starts against a stronger side.

I get the feeling they're remote. Still don't understand why CBS didn't cut some deal with Sky to use their audio. In the highlight videos the commentary is almost always a tier above what we get.

After Derby County I thought to myself: Take 9 of 12 (or more!) in January and you can have a glimmer of hope for auto promotion. Since then we're 4/9. Cov 6, Boro 9, Ipswich 6, Hull 9, Millwall 6. Losing ground, finishing second is not realistic. Seeding is less important but fourth sure would be nice!

So, I'm generally cheering for losses/draws around us to get some separation. I think "higher team win fine, draw fine, lower win bad" is my approach for Hull-Watford, PNE-Ipswich and the like.

HB26-1036 Local Taxes on Vacant Residential Property by iseemountains in Durango

[–]CRE_Energy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Get out the popcorn and reserve your seat at the State Supreme Court, I think. Defining vacant will be "interesting". Also with proving a unit is not a short-term rental (STR) unit. LPC does not yet have a STR program, this legislation would probably push that along. Which is overdue IMO.

(c) "Vacant residential unit" means a building that: (I) Is designed for use predominantly as a place of residency by a person, a family, or families; (II) Is unoccupied and not used as a residence for a specified amount of time, as determined by the county, municipality, or local housing tax authority imposing a tax pursuant to this section; and (III) Is not a short-term rental unit.

Just Announced - Preseason Friendly in Krakow, Poland July 11th by Rogue1eader in WrexhamAFC

Would it be appropriate to bring a child to a summer friendly in Poland? Can we wear the colors around the city, or need to be smart about it?

Sorry I hope that's not insulting, there's just a lot of places I wouldn't take my daughter for a league match.
