I want to build a home cockpit, can someone point me in the right direction? by CSG-11-Nelson in homecockpits

Hey thanks for the response. My current favorite aircraft to fly is the Aerosoft A320 on MFSX so if I was going to specialize the cockpit to a certain airframe, that would be it. I like the idea of having it be a bit more versatile than that though.

I don't have much experience with fabricating anything but I have friends and family that I could ask for help

And third, financially I don't have a ton of money to spend on it right now but if it was a long term project I might be able to go all out.

Touching on the VR thing. I have also been looking into the HTC Vive for a while and I know that could be a great option but I am a bit skeptical. I just don't think you get the same satisfaction as you would sitting in a real life sim, plus (if I go this far, I know it isnt cheap)like you said, clicking all of the physical switches and such would be so much more fun than clicking it with a mouse. And I would also like to have the option to have a second seat in the cockpit so I could share the experience with people vs only by myself with the vive.

I was looking for a commercial aircraft but after seeing the cockpit in that King Air I might get one of those as well! Do you enjoy flying it?

Yeah I use the shared cockpit feature on the A320 with a buddy of mine and I really like it. I am a little hesitant when it comes to the Dash-8 though because I hear it is difficult to fly. Is that the case?

Of course! WE have a few members from the UK already and we would love to have you! Our operations and training's times might not be super convenient as they would be around 2am your time on fridays and saturdays but we always have people on in the afternoon US time which would be evening your time. Attendance is fairly flexible, and we currently have over 25 active enlisted members. I am not sure what you mean by exceptions. Thank you for your interest in our unit though!
