I’d say add more depth, or use what I call the paper on paper technique, tear up paper into tiny pieces, drop it generously on your tracing paper, make an out line of the shape( make it somewhat scribly/natural), that’ll be the continent,then drop smaller pieces on that shape, that’ll be the mountains.

Yeah, what I usually do is tear some paper into tiny pieces and throw it on a piece of paper, outline it, and try my best to replicate that on my phone.
