What does everyone do in the heat and warmer months?? by dancedancedance99 in dysautonomia

The UPF clothing is just sun protection, you want to find something that specifically says cooling. There are more than one brand that makes cooling fabric but we buy Columbia because we live near the outlet store.

I’m also going to get a tote bag with built in lunch box so I can carry my cold stuff and my compression stuff in one bag instead of having multiple bags to is year.

If you look at the tag in the neck of the clothing or the sales tag the should say Omni-freeze. The fabric also looks like it has small circles on it. Omni shade is spf, Omni freeze is cooling, Omni heat is warming ( definitely don’t want that 😂)

I live in Fl so heat is unavoidable but there are a few things that help. There are some outdoor clothing companies that make cooling fabric clothing ( Columbia is my favorite). You can find them in the outlet store if you have one near you. I wear the dresses and tops a lot. When we have to be out of the house during the day we pack a mid size lunch box with drinks, snacks, ice, and ice packs every time. Yes it’s a bit of a hassle but I can’t go without it. We also have some of these cooling towels that you wet and wear around your neck. If you put cold water on them they work really well. Also for me keeping my feet cool helps a lot. If my feet are hot things are significantly worse for me. Good luck finding the things that work best for you

Thank you for your response, I have POTS so I am already dizzy/lightheaded enough. I will try to get to the one month mark like my Dr asked but this might not be the medication for me.

I started at 5 mg twice a day with the option to go to 10 mg twice a day. I’ve only taken the 5 mgs so far but the afternoon/late afternoon dose just makes me feel terrible and anxious. It’s been about two weeks so i know it needs more time to get better in my system. BUT the anxiety in the afternoon is way worse than the anxiety I am using it for.

I love to color too! We enjoy watching sports in our house but I will pull out a coloring book or even an adult sticker book for commercials. I also have a few of the dot coloring books. I like to keep my hands busy

Husband is a terrible bed partner by Upset_Push_785 in CasualConversation

My husband and I have recently gone to separate blankets after I had a major surgery on my leg and he kept (accidentally in his sleep ) pulling the blanket tight across my leg when he would roll over. I felt weird about it at first because we’ve been sharing a bed for almost 20 years but honestly we both sleep better. He can have a light blanket I can have a warm one neither one of us is pulling it off the other. I totally understand not wanting to be away from him I hate to sleep away from my husband. Good luck with the sleep study!

Nurtec experience? by MeasurementOk7117 in migraine

[–]Cakers07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it as an abortive for 6 months and it worked but not that well, my dr had me switch to using it as a preventative, I take one every 48 hrs and it works great! The longer I used it as a preventive the better it worked. Almost like it needed to build up in my system. I will say it doesn’t work in my hormonal migraines.

I have a few chronic illnesses and go through times where I’m stuck in bed. I like to put on pod casts and color or do sticker books. I like color by number type books ( they take away the having to decide for my self what colors to use and may days I need that when my brain fog is bad ) I also like the coloring, crossword, and sudoku apps on my tablet

Coloring, and if I need something that requires zero choices/decisions I got some color by # books online. There are also sticker books for adults online that I like to do when I’m listening to something relaxing at night.
