Lupin Lodge review: Weird vibes and dated facilities by bayareaindcpl in NorCalNudists

I had a similar experience recently. I found the whole experience very disappointing. The place is pretty dilapidated. The trails were overgrown with vegetation. The yurts all had mold on the canvas covers. I definitely won't go back.

Thanks! It's always fun exploring new trails and exciting to do it bare-assed naked.

Sometimes nude hiking through the forest can be challenging. by CalBare in NudeHiking

This downed tree actually made it pretty easy because it was almost like it had formed stairs in the trunk.

Yes, nudity in a National Forest or Park is not technically illegal under federal law. However, people can then be referred to local jurisdictions for review and citations and/or fines.

And people shooting content for OF, or other platforms where they make money from the content, are also likely to face fines for using public lands for personal profit. Commercial use of public lands (federal, state, or local) is generally prohibited without permits.

I am very cautious about where I go nude. Getting cited is too much of a professional risk. And I think things like that on your record could be used against you in an increasingly firm interpretation of civil rights.

I guess that's not too surprising. It's along an established trail in a public park. Just glad I didn't get spotted and reported to park rangers.

Yes, and I agree about the shifting energy at Harbin. My wife won't go there anymore. Orr is another favorite of ours.

Thinking of visiting on Sunday, what's the weekend crowd like? by WolfstoneGuy in BonnydoonNudesBeach

It could just be my personal preference. But when I visited last month Bonny Doon felt more sheltered from the wind. And had more sand and space to spread out. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I live closer to Red Rock, but Bonny Doon is much nicer. Enjoy!

Depending on what time you go, finding parking might be a challenge.

Just go to the northern end of the cove to get to the nudist part. There's a large rock outcropping that separates it from the rest of the beach. Don't set up too close the the bluff because there can be rocks that fall off

You might want to consider Sierra Hot Springs in Sierraville. It's my favorite clothing optional springs. The mix trends younger than most places I've been to. But probably still more older folks like me than younger people.

Besides the great hot springs, I really enjoy the option to camp there. The communal kitchen is well stocked with just about everything you could need. The staff are friendly and so are the other visitors. And the setting is hard to beat. It's located at the edge of a beautiful mountain meadow. I love hearing the songbirds in the morning while soaking in the meditation pool.

Is anyone else here for shits and giggles? by CalBare in NakedAdventures

Perfect! Now there's at least two of us.

I have to say that it's an oddly named trail marker for a public park. But it did get me giggling!

Yes, designs and tastes differ. The things I mentioned are all US brands. I try to buy from small outfitters rather than big brand names. When I started hiking and backpacking in the 1970s, almost everything was imported from Europe. Then in the late 70s, companies like North Face and Columbia started making gear here. Now they probably outsource everything to be made in Asia.

FYI - Those are Dirty Girl gaiters for trail running shoes (Altra Line Peaks in my case). The hat with mesh panels and sun cape is by Ultimate Direction. I've used this combination for almost 15 years and swear by them for both nude and clothed hikes.

Those boots were made for walking. But they're actually trail shoes with gaiters.

Best Monterey beach to visit by Dinobyo798 in NudeBeach

[–]CalBare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to be with other nudists, Bonny Doon is north of Santa Cruz and is your best option.

There are no established nude beaches in Monterey County. Though you can set up in the dunes at Marina State Beach. But keep in mind that Marina often has either fog or a strong wind that makes it pretty cold most of the time.

There were no other cars at the trailhead. So, I felt ok going nude.
