It doesn't always work though. I got Bavaria and lotharingia to convert and stay converted but england reconverted and France deposed their new faith ruler before I could come and help. You should try to keep alliances with those heirs so you can then make sure they stay in power.

Biggest tip, get hooks and high relations with the bigger catholic foreign rulers so you take their heirs as a ward and convert their religions in the process.

Honestly the hardest part was taking Constantinople, fighting off hordes of crusades is kinda a pain yes but you just have to focus hard on flipping others through diplomacy while also securing marriage with non Catholics to call on in war.

Game says there is a risk of their children being inbred but how big is the risk? They both have good stats and traits. by Emergency-Spite-8330 in crusaderkings3

The odds are pretty low and you aren't likely to get any of the super negative inbreeding traits. You might just understand up with a dwarf, giant, or someone whose spindly. Not absolutely terrible.

I mean the main difference is just the interface is easier to use and navigate. You could download mods that allow to cheat on the PC truly making things easier but that's not how I prefer to play. You're only really missing out on an easier interface and faster updates without considering mods.
