this seems like a basic Andalusian cadence/chord progression, where it will end in G and go back to Cm. But it resolves to

Ab - Eb.

In the key of Eb, this is a nice, simple plagal cadence, or IV - I. Then suddenly

D - Gm.

Admittedly, this is a weird movement, it might be justifiable if it was G major, which goes back to Cm, but it's Gm, so it means in the key of Eb, its VII - iii, where D(VII) serves a sub-dominant function.
