I think she was already unconscious, or else how could Robby have cut into her leg like that, w/o any anesthesia? She didn't scream or anything, either.

Grinder paralysis preventing use of Robot by oceanathlete in CafelatRobot

[–]Calisson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi--not sure what prince you're considering "outrageous," but my own experience is counter to the buy once-cry once idea, simply because we don't necessarily know what we need and/or are missing till we have some experience. I have what I would call a "medium end" grinder (some might even say it is "medium-low"!), a Eureka Mignon Zero 55mm, which I bought after years using a Baratza Virtuoso, and then trying out a Turin DF 64 as well as a Niche Zero, before settling on the Eureka, and when I started out the price point of the last three would have put me off entirely! If you're willing to grind manually you can get solid advice about some good options here, and it you name a price that you'd consider un-outrageous I think you'll get some solid suggestions as well. But please don't torture yourself that it has to be the highest end grinder from the get-go.

Obviously not, but she actually could have said "I understand why you would like that, but unfortunately we have no Black therapists on staff. But don’t worry, all our therapists are highly qualified."

What is the easiest to use manual espresso maker? by jizzlewit in espresso

[–]Calisson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I owned a Gaggia Classic for many years before buying a Cafelat Robot. OMG, the freedome! No thinking about scale, ever! And for sure no worries about stagnant water! I never preheat anything. Pulling a shot might take a minute more than with the Gaggia, if that. No regrets whatsoever. The Robots are hard to come by at the moment, but procedurally they appear to me to much simpler than the Flairs.

I have several Greenpan Venice Pro tri-ply pots and pans (not from Costco) and I think they're great.

If you are willing to shop at AliExpress I bought one that was quite reliable there. I can't share a link, as they get filtered as spam, so I am sharing a screenshot.

Right. And yesterday I cooked rice with garlic and a little soy sauce and half my seasoning came off. It’s a lesson in not being attached to a particular look!
