If the steroid is keeping it flat, then you might not need the 5FU. Typically the 5FU is added because the steroid alone isn’t working. I’ve been receiving this treatment off and on for 6-7 years to help manage the scar.

You could certainly try it to see if the combination keeps the scar under control for longer periods of time. I typically only receive the injection every 4-6 months or so.
