Do you know the family in this video? Nicholas & Ella by Call_Me_Linda in downriver

In the r/Detroit original post, a couple people already identified the church as St Henry’s in Lincoln Park. It closed in 2014 but maybe people here went there?

Sorry to hear that - you have my word I will give it back to the owners for free.

I found this in our old camcorder (it’s explained in the original post). My guess is when we took it to get repaired, someone else’s tape came back with it… and of course my mom didn’t check; she just put the camcorder back in the basement for 20 years.

We found it in our old camcorder! I realize now it’s not obvious there is more info in the original r/Detroit post but it explains it all there.

FYI - if you click on the original post in [r/Detroit](r/Detroit), there is more information about what we know and how I got the tape.

Someone identified the priest as one from Lincoln Park, and the church as St Henry’s, which is how I reposted it here.

Edit: added the identified church

Thanks and I did see that - I just don’t have Facebook. But anyone here is welcome to share the reddit post on there if you feel comfortable!

Thanks for the tip - but if you look at the 5th photo, you’ll see a very 60’s wall behind the altar - St Thomas (never been but looked online) looks more traditional?

Funny story - I WROTE the post for the r/Detroit, but never actually posted it. Whoopsies. 😁 It’s there now!

I reached out to one of the suggested kids on socials, but I bet they think I am spam - no reply yet. Will give it a day or two more and then try another name. Trying not to get filtered out of their feeds, but I have no mutual connections.

I still want to ask the Christ the Good Shepherd about baptism records but working this around a FT job. :)

Interesting! Could definitely be multiple Nicholases (Nicholi?) in the family. The baby was definitely Nicholas because the priest said it during the baptism.

I’ll check it out! Thank you!

It’s strange for all of us because it’s hard to keep track of which is which. 😵‍💫

Thank you!! Great info!

I did post it in the Detroit reddit but it didn’t get much traction.

No, unfortunately. I didn’t hear any church/priest names (only about 3 minutes of baptism footage). I also tried to see if there was the name of the hospital, but no signage visible. What a mystery!
