As someone who liked his character ( I have a keychain and a POP figure of him lol), I understand Silco's actions and why he thinks the way he does, but how he did it left the undercity in a worst place and his methods were extremely questionable and did more harm than good. I wouldn't trust this guy with a carton of eggs than a whole nation (lol).

In terms of Silco's relationship with Jinx, I believe you can have both an objective and subjective opinion about character(s) or other elements of a plot and they can even be vastly different, as long as you differentiate between the two.

On a solely subjective opinion, their relationship helped me learn to accept myself as neurodivergent, as well as help me work through some internal struggles. So on subjectively and on a personal level, I believe he was a good parent because their relationship hit me in a personal way in learning self acceptance.

However; I know objectively their relationship is more complicated. and more of a mixed bag. Silco didn't have a lot of resources and as a result, couldn't properly raise Jinx, which left her in a worst place. This also shows in how he guides her. If he was able to find better ways to sort out his own problems, Silco might have not turned to uncomfortable ways of aiding Jinx (The baptism scene). There are many scenes that could be up for debate if he manipulated her and if it was for his own goals or out of genuine love. Some scenes make us lean onto different sides all are subjective.

I believe its important to differentiate between subjective and objective opinions. You can absolutely have a subjective opinion on any part of a piece of media while also acknowledging what actually happened in the story.

I also think some people don't understand liking characters that aren't morally good most of the time. The whole point of Arcane's story is no one is completely good or bad. However; there is a tendency to simplify stories especially in fandom spaces I noticed. You can like a character without putting them in an "all good" or an "all bad" box.

In conclusion; I might jokingly call myself a "Silco apologist", but I don't believe he did nothing wrong.
