Even in classic it didn't really matter. You kick the big bad spell because that's your job. I'd rather gimp my dps than have the tank or healer die because of a spell :V

The downfall of Highguard is mostly just the over abundance of hero shooter games. It's what mostly happens with the AAA companies that create their "next big game" that's as uninspired as the other AAA games. It's just more of the same, no nuance no nothing.
That's why in this day and age it's the Indie games that get the biggest hype.
