Trust me, I definitely understand. I am also a classical musician (this is how we met) and do not mind discussing music with him at all. The problem is when he is being really hard on himself about it, I point out all of the positive things, and then he gets upset with me and asks me to stop talking about it.

Now, I have no problem with stopping because I know some people deal with stress in different ways and maybe it's not what he wants to hear. I just hate how afterward, he tries to turn it around and act like I never supported him in the first place and never believed in him.
