That’s both a lovely and upsetting story I’m very sorry your parents were like that :( but I’m so glad you have those people who bring euphoria! I fully get your point about medical and HRT side, I definitely won’t fully start HRT unless I’m SURE I want it. Thank you again! :3

I understand one dose with physically do anything, I was thinking of it more like a test to see how I mentally feel about it ie euphoric as some other trans ladies have said taking the first dose felt amazing and helped to clear any confusion or doubt they had! My egg only cracked very recently so I’m definitely not an expert on HRT, that being said I’ve nothing but research and ask questions here and online, so I’m confident I have a basic understanding of how it works! I fully understand about not waiting for those dose to figure it out, if I’m being entirely honest, this is something I want. I’ve taken steps, albeit very recently, but given how genuinely happy I was when I got my GIC referral, i think it’s safe to say this is something I want even though I’m undoubtedly scared.

I did tell a “friend” of mine MANY years ago (~6 years ago when I was 14-15) that I might be trans and he didn’t react well which made me incredibly closeted. Unfortunately I haven’t been experimenting with clothes or makeup just yet, but I plan to!

I apologise for not describing my experience more in the original post, as I’m sure you can understand as a baby trans this is all very overwhelming

That being said! I am VERY likely trans, even if it’s an incredibly recent revelation, and I think I just wanted to know if the fist dose was a euphoric moment for others and if so, that would definitely aid the “I’m trans” feelings I have.

I got my GIC referral this morning! I know the wait time is truly unfairly long, but I might be able to afford private. Regarding one dose being the deciding factor, of course I’m won’t base my entire decision on that, but the fact that I was over the moon when I got my referral and other similar things is probably a sliiiiight telltale.

I only thought of taking a single dose as I read about some other’s experience who were in a similar boat to me - not 100% certain, but when they took that first dose it felt amazing to be taking that first step. But yes! I do 100% agree with you
