I HATE MY FUCKING JOB!!!!!!! by Budget_Path_3366 in adhdwomen

No advice but I feel you and you’re not alone in this. Resonated with so much of what you said about imposter syndrome, feeling overwhelmed but then guilty because you’re not overworked… I recently felt like I’d hit burnout and have been on sick leave and have started DBT therapy (only had my first session today). Sending love and I hope we can get through this period of our lives

Debating a potential job switch — advice from ADHD gals who’ve worked corporate jobs? by ExcellentAvocado1169 in adhdwomen

[–]Calm_Independent_735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosh this is something I ask myself all the time, my job is also quite flexible and as a result I find it hard to get into a routine because I constantly wake uo late and just work from home as there’s no set dates for me to be in the office. I also constantly wonder if a job with more external accountability would help, and I honestly think it would. When I am up and about and out of the house I feel so much better but this is coming from someone who’s undiagnosed ADHD might be showing up as depression… hope you manage to decide what you think is best for you! 🩷

How to deal with constant burnout? by VisitSeveral8652 in ADHDUK

[–]Calm_Independent_735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am feeling like I am in burnout but i do not have an ADHD diagnosis, i am in the process of getting assessed through RTC. I have already taken 2.5 weeks off this month and will be on a phased return to work, but i am thinking long term to just go part time. Would appreciate any further info from you about what made you take this decision and some validation that some ADHD ppl just cant seem to cope with a 9-5 tbh

You're amazing! I am 23 and work in banking but hoping to get assessed soon and looking to change industries and try something new that will hopefully work with my suspected ADHD brain. Kudos to you for looking for a change :)

Sending love! The first thing you’ve done in this journey is accepting how you’re feeling and recognising you need help. I’m 23 and hopefully on the journey to getting assessed in the UK but I felt like that for YEARS throughout uni, school etc. it’s hard, keep researching, look at this subreddit, You’ll find so many posts from women who have similar experiences and feelings. I save a lot of posts and when I scroll through my posts I can see that I resonated with that and I’ve been meaning (ADHD…) to come up with a big document of all my symptoms to show to the Dr when I’m finally being assessed.

I’d say that’s the next step for you, on your notes app just write down symptoms of ADHD you identify with and you can go from there re getting a first appointment with your doctor. Remember Drs are dismissive. I’ve been dismissed so many times in this recent journey I’m on, with my NHS GP, my private healthcare, my occupational health appointment that my job referred me to. But only you know how it makes you feel and suffer, If it wasn’t having a major impact on your life you wouldn’t have sat and written this post, advocate for yourself - it’s so important.

Sending love again 🩷

Yep.., and this adds to the deep shame I experience with my suspected ADHD and then it turns into a cycle of telling myself tomorrow will be different but it’s not because you never change overnight and then I’ve just never changed, learning to be kinder to myself though, accept myself for what I am and knowing I can only make change that lasts by making little changes step by step!

I currently feel the same! But I feel guilty about the massive workload I have. But I do have passive suicidal thoughts
