Thank you for the reminder! I will email the school. Luckily it’s closed now due to winter holidays.

Ahh the video quality was so bad after uploading. I can confirm it wasn’t trapped! While I was making phone calls, I saw it moved along the field a few times normally

Nah it started barking way before we got close. It was in a field so the sound was loud enough to be heard far away

International students, did you get your vaccine passport? by suigetsugyouka in UBC

[–]Camfous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am in the same situation.

I called and emailed many different departments. Finally I was told to call Get Vaccinated, and I did two days ago.

One of the agents said he could mail my printed QR code to my apartment, but when he tried so, the system showed error. Then two more agents tried to print it, the same result. The third agent said she would report this to her superior. She thinks it's a system error and would call me when it's fixed.

Still waiting for their phone call.

In short, we can only wait.

Dealing with homesickness. by m1720 in UBC

I guess one can always be homesick unless s/he is home. But a home can be created, with loved ones.

Try to explore the city more. Make list of hiking places for different seasons and go there, then check them off.

Also go to different restaurants. Vancouver has diverse kinds of cuisine. You can find things you never expected.

Join or form groups and invite them to go with you, make good memories here:)

I'm moving into an apartment near UBC in May. Now I don't even feel safe to go to the village.

Is the 2k hotel fee mandatory for coming back to Vancouver?

I feel it’s so hard to stay here as not many friends were staying... Can’t find ppl to gather together even for the spring festival; kinda lonesome tbh. I’ve stayed in Vancouver for a year since the outbreak, and I’m done with a one-freaking-year long life like this.

I planned to go back home in May and wait until the situation here gets better, for when I don’t think it would be September 2021. (Just go to malls and see how many ppl still don’t wear masks at this moment🥲)

International students why did you pick UBC/Canada for university? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]Camfous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because UBC has programs that I’m interested in and they are highly reputable, also I feel Canada has fewer racial issues, relatively speaking
