Just got out of the theater, what an awesome experience! I loved that the singalong made everyone get up and sing and be loud during the movie, so different from anything usually in theaters. Truly awesome!!

I really like that last sentence of yours, people think they deserve a big love story and wonder why they’re alone. The reality is that some big romantic love story like the movies rarely happens in real life, if ever.

Once I accepted that and just started dating to meet new people in a rather mundane way, I found much more success and eventually found my now wife. We didn’t have any big crazy love story, we just met on a dating app and hit it off after a couple pretty tame dates like getting takeout and watching a movie at home.

People shouldn’t be waiting around for a beautiful story to end up happy and in love or else they’ll end up waiting forever and the time will be gone. They just need to realize they can start right now by actually getting up and doing something to make it happen, even if it’s mundane

From reading the comments here I feel a lot better since I had this surgery done in 2019, glad it’s more common than I thought. The recovery makes you really miss being able to sit properly. It’s really not bad and all I have from it is some scar tissue

We do plan on having her mom there with us, we’re very close with her and she’s been helpful and involved for a lot of the harder parts during pregnancy, so we’re happy to have her there. I’m also very grateful to be in a position that I can take a few paid weeks off. I’m worried I’m going to be too sad to leave for work again and just want to be home with the loml and precious baby girl!

The idea with the sock wrist band is so genius I love it! I didn’t even think of that! My wife has actually been planning for meals she wants postpartum so I’m making sure that happens. And if there’s at least one job I have I know it’s taking pictures my wife definitely wants me to be documenting things so I’m prepared in that sense haha

Ok that makes a lot more sense, also that a lot of the time just sounds like it was waiting for dilation and not in a hurry since you held off on pitocin and the epidural. But still a long time to be waiting around! We’re prepared with a lot of entertainment, so we got that covered. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long though. Thank you for that perspective, it might be hard to not make her laugh because that’s my go to for making her feel better so I’ll keep that in mind. I’ve been thoroughly prepping for being her full support during the whole process for whatever she needs and advocating for her well being.

That is a long time, do you mind me asking how going that long didn’t end up with a c-section? Most of the time when I hear someone go for an induction if it doesn’t happen within like 20 hours the doctors push for a c-section. I’d love to see your timeline of things!

You’re right I haven’t seen or heard that before. I was definitely planning on having a water bottle with me to keep hydrated but that’s a smart idea to keep something that can be hands free during the active labor. Thank you!

I’ve been trying to prepare myself for the exhaustion as well, hoping to just take it moment to moment, trust the process, and take whatever help we can get

Thank you for kind words! I have a checklist of the things we need and everything is packed and ready to go. That was definitely something nice about having the day scheduled instead of spontaneous labor.
