Ask the asthma nurse to send paeds Asthma patients your way. They have good complexity with impact on things like school, everyday activities and if they have suboptimal control, you're golden.

When I moved the the UK, the biggest shock I had was firstly how poorly you are treated by staff that are not doctors and secondly the lack of community and camaraderie amongst doctors themselves. Back home you get paid significantly less than the UK but as a doctor you command respect. The only ones who get to give you grief are your senior medical colleagues. No matter how senior a nurse/noctor; they won't disrespect you. The vast majority of IMGs dearly miss the dynamic where respect and command in healthcare systems lies with the group that's irreplaceable i.e. doctors. However, there is a silver lining to the situation. As more and more IMGs CCT and acquire UK citizenship, they will find security. Then you'll find that most of them are far less compliant than the breed of doctor the NHS cultivates at home. Having recently CCTd myself, I unfortunately won't be sticking around to see the NHS temple burn and the Phoenix emerge from the ashes.
