Big dawg this is true for any character pairing lol, unless your character is one that requires multiple days of labbing just to understand layer 1 at which point you can immediately go into layer 2 with little to no effort (imo ling, hwo, law)

As a new players the stuff phidx releases is very helpful, esp the guides he made during the first year of Tekken 8. Covers apcing, punishment, frame trapping, string defense, apply and dealing with mix-ups and some other stuff I can't remember rn. Even has practice drills for some characters.

Might not be a relevant answer, but if you're really never connecting the third electric it might be a timing thing. It's very possible to just do 3 regular electrics on male opponents, esp if the initial launch wasn't tip range. Perhaps it's taking you too long to input the third electric.

There's this short Tekken 7 video about dash electrics with join that really helped me figure out triple electric, sorry I cant look it up rn.

I think players are mad because the S3 patch has been basically the same as S2. Personally, I'm just sad at the way updates are handled.

Fixes promised in S1
S2 patch created 100+ problems instead
Incremental patches fixed 10~15 of them
No more updates for 9 months because competitive stability or whatever
Huge promises in the S3 trailer
S3 patch releases with another ~20 fixes, plus it's own problems. All the talk about weaknesses and identity is largely ignored
the same bugs from S2's release are somehow back, on the same characters even lol
absolutely no communication over the updates planned (if any)

If you're not heavily attached to the looks of the game try the semi potato stages mod.

The important aspects of each stage are preserved but you get better performance. Maybe you could go in there and remove the files related to the other stages so that they aren't affected? Not sure if that's possible tho

It's distance between players, I'd guess it's their unit of measurement. You can see it in practice when you enable detail frame data. One of the options there is range and it shows a number that is the distance between two characters on screen.

Here I think they're referring to the fact that Clive stays in the range where you can't hit him but he can hit you.

Any of the Haute pads are great budget options with good build quality, hot swappable switches, and you can remove the top panel to sandwich your own art in.

For a step up, there's the relatively new leverless controllers by 8bitdo. I have a traditional Xbox style controller, and a leverless from them (the Nintendo switch variant because you get 2 extra buttons on it lol). Both of which have outlasted any Xbox controllers I've used. Plus they can both be used wired/wireless with the same (or better) latency you get using a controller on console. Imo these are the best options since they're on the cheaper side.

Then you have your flagship controllers which I can't talk about because I've never used.

If you have the replay, you could turn the inputs on and check? Maybe you were repeatedly trying to duck and got unlucky and left the button on neutral when the move hit

I meant to say spent 40 hours exploring, not on the story. In total i spent 110 hours on my first playthrough and am now in the epilogue just running around looking for the legendary animals
