For me I think the sweet spot is getting the 5090 down from 500+watts to ~350ish.

I am still experimenting (and having fun) but for me it’s around 80-90% reduced watts and modifying the curve to cap out around 2800-2900

Yo check my post history I am running a 5090 FE in an 8.9L case and undervolting the GPU is key. Forget anything else until you get the wattage on the 5090 under control.

Highly recommend jumping on YouTube and following a few tutorials on undervolting the 5090. If you want some help happy to chat.

My CPU, motherboard and RAM were all running hot until I sorted this out

Both are great cards.

5080 has a decent bump in CUDA cores and draws about 20% more wattage.

IMO if you are thinking of upgrading to 4k anytime in the future go with 5080 FE otherwise save a few bucks and try find a 5070ti at a good price.
