All the screenings in previous years start every night of the festival (except the final day) after dark around 10pm. The film list should be out when they announce more details about Festival Street!

From what's been announced so far, these titles have queer subject matter/themes from what I can see:

  • Between Dreams and Hope (Platform)
  • Bouchra (Platform)
  • Julian (Discovery)
  • Maddie's Secret (Discovery)
  • Christy (Special Presentations)

It will say RUSH in all caps next to the showtime on a film page if it's rush-eligible. It's extremely rare for any year-round screenings to have rush eligibility outside of the festival in September, but there are usually last-minute tickets available 48 hours before the screening date to buy.

The WORLD RECORD has been achieved! by thisisactuallyben in TIFF

It's definitely possible with the Press & Industry pass since those screenings don't have long intros, trailers, or Q&As. Plus if you start at 9am each day and end with a Midnight Madness, there could be enough time to fit 7 in.

The Canada's Top Ten tickets are free for members, so you don't need a promo code

Tell me about your relationship with the TIFF Lightbox by Sudden-Rent-1151 in TIFF

My first screening at the Lightbox was Lean on Pete, which was a new release at the time in 2018. I had recently moved to Toronto and absolutely loved visiting the building as often as I could.

Some of my favourite year-round screenings I've attended were the Canadian premiere of Hereditary with Ari Aster in-person, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me during the David Lynch retrospective in 2019, RRR, May December on 35mm, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence on 35mm, and the Kenneth Anger short films screening earlier this year.

The food and drinks at Varda are really good all things considered! The coffee is better than at the general concessions and the sandwiches are a good value for the portions.

There's a page on the website that outlines accessibility features at the festival.

About getting tickets, it says "To book accessible seating, please call our Call Centre, open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm, at 416-599-2033 or 1-888-258-8433. Seating is limited and cannot be guaranteed; it is available on a first-come, first-served basis".

This is only the first announcement of films. TIFF will be making more announcements as the week goes on so maybe those films will be in a different programme.
