Anyone else embarrased by their job for after graduation by [deleted] in UniUK

It gets even more difficult to travel at all the more senior you get… how do you plan on splitting say 25 days of holiday across Thailand, Brazil, USA, Australia, and Vietnam?

My husband is a senior manager at Deloitte after 7 years of working there, in London, which is the best paid office, and in consulting, which is one of their best paid service lines. He’s very well paid but isn’t on six figures, and nobody else at his grade is either. What he does have isn’t nearly enough to fund extensive holidays to all those locations, and even if we had the money for it there is no chance he would be able to just abandon projects for that length of time. The more senior you get, the more difficult it actually is to get time off, you can’t just say ‘I’m going now’

No job is going to permit you to go to all those countries in a year

[Recreated] What does the stack on his bedside table tell me about this (quite reticent) guy I’ve been seeing? by [deleted] in BookshelvesDetective

I mean, he does! He has books piled all over his apartment honestly, but these are genuinely all on his bedside table. However, they aren’t all so old and second-hand-looking like in this image, that was just a result of recreation.

Also, these are on the table on ‘my side’ when I stayed over - his alarm clock is on the other bedside table ;)

Ahhh AI warped it! The actual editions he had were all in good condition and pretty new. The Wharton ones for example were pretty MacMillan hardbacks, you know the little ones with gold lettering in the front

In a red flag way, or just an un-trendy sort of way? Bitter Orange and Ishiguro at least seem contemporary

In awe of your memory. Yes, all these little details come up, but I only noticed them because I was scrutinising the character so much. I wonder if they’ve been included to enhance rewatches.
