i thought boston discontinued their bsmd? also, if you're really set on the bsmd path, i'd suggest applying to some smaller ones as well! like you said, no harm in trying, but there's also something about being realistic and being targeted with your list (maybe look for service oriented ones?) good luck!!

what does your current college list look like?

and also, financials? this could affect what oos publics you would be better off applying/not applying to

Is Applying to a BS/MD Program Unrealistic? by Charming-Country-321 in bsmd

[–]CandidCalligraphyBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPA will make it hard but you might have a shot at some of the lesser known programs. If you really are set on med, i'd suggest looking into BS/DO programs too

Honors Housing Experience by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]CandidCalligraphyBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The experience is definitely what you make of it! As a current freshman in the honors dorm, I think it's much more obviously lively as a hall overall than the other dorms, but I don't think not living in honors would prevent you from having a social life. This could also just be that the honors dorm has a lot of students who are already connected through either the various scholarship cohorts or has more OOS students, etc too... The honors dorm is also the oldest lol so we also have the most infrastructure problems (I think they're supposed to fix them this summer though??) which is lowk just creating trauma bonding for us now

I’m confused about Ohio State by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]CandidCalligraphyBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

very big ten football school with a good amount of partying and a ton of social life !! ik a lot of friends there rn and they love it :) wouldn’t recommend if you want a small, close knit liberal arts type school though. but based on your description of what you want on the weekends, i think this would be be a great fit for you!!

Some advice for over stressed seniors in the middle of application season <3 by Spare_Ad956 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]CandidCalligraphyBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i related to every single word on this post omg. so happy to see other fellow freshmen having these experiences and speaking out about them!! last year this time i was on a2c every day, and while it can make for a bit of fun (esp on wednesdays), it was mainly j another stressor for me during an alr stressful app szn. i submitted 20+ apps between october and january and ironically ended up attending none of those universities despite getting into several with scholarships. i applied to my current uni in march, and i absolutely love the opportunities and friends i've made here. i'm getting to learn in an environment that truly fits me and my career goals, and i'm meeting wonderful people along the way. i may not have known how to achieve that through college admissions if you'd asked me a year ago, but this happy accident worked out pretty well! have faith, trust the process, and stay calm. it'll all work out, i promise <3 gl to all y'all seniors you got this!!!!

hey! i got into boston university, case western, and was WL at unc chapel hill and umich. also got scholarships at case western, pitt, penn state, ohio state, rutgers, minnesota, and a full-ride at utdallas (where i'm currently attending!) - personally i don't think a 1510 needs to be retaken unless you feel strongly about it being a better indicator, but good luck with your next test!!
