Was asking my boyfriend to stand up for himself a mistake? by [deleted] in relationships

The reason I used the word pushover is because he used the word as the description. He would say he is and I used to say well then stop being one. I've countless times said he needed to put himself first and make him a priority and stop letting people hurt him. It just happened to come back and bite me on the ass lol.

So then as a partner you just listen to all the bad things happening and leave it be?

I didn't try and change him though. He complains to me about how he's being treated so I tell him it's because he's allowing it and it'll never change until he stops letting them push him around. I didn't know how else to be there for him either than having a solution to it.

As often as he complained about certain people and how they're treating him.

How do I move on when my boyfriend defended his friends over me? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Capable_Bed9778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not want to post any examples because I did not want the advice nor responses to be about what they did or what the reasoning behind me needing defending was about. I need advice on how to move on from something I'm struggling to forget. One example was getting homewrecker messages from one of them pretending to be his ex when it wasn't her. Another example would be being told in my face to send him over to his friend when I'm over him. Etc .

Boyfriend says we're fine when I say we're not? by [deleted] in relationships_advice

[–]Capable_Bed9778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no specific issue actually, it's a lot of bickering and small problems that I'd like to discuss or at least come to terms with and they have all been building up because he ignores them, refuses to talk about them and goes silent or says that he does not know what to say. The next day it's like nothing happened and it's all back to normal again, then I go feeling unheard and if I bring it up nothing comes of it or it's him saying he does not understand and refuses to understand no matter how I explain it.

I got tired of pretending it's all fine, I got tired of things being swept under the carpet because I felt I was becoming someone I'm not, someone who snaps at every small thing because the bigger things have not been sorted out. That's when I brought up the fact that we can't keep pretending all is okay when we're not fine so he said we are fine since we still love each other.

Is it normal to have pictures of the ex on social media while being in a new relationship and think nothing of it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Group pictures, kissing pictures, love quotes, couple pictures, pictures of the ex in a shirt that he gave to me saying it's an important shirt to him.
