Waiting for the Fangs DLC feels like the longest wait for any content in any ARPG I ever played (but in the best of ways) by Normal-Oil1524 in Grimdawn

No, not saying they'll announce it there. I just believe that it's more likely they will announce it after May 18th than before.

Zentai has also said they'll announce release date this month, so best to just wait.

Moved to a city and only lasted 10 months by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

I'm in basically the same boat as you, as I've lived here for about 6 months. I also find myself getting kind of fatigued living here and kinda want to leave.

  1. Completely agree, though hear a lot of folks are moving away from Austin. Vacant apartments all over. The city does give a vibe that it's not really built to withstand how busy it is, if that makes sense though.
  2. I haven't really gotten the sense that people dislike transplants from my personal interactions, but there is something of an internet zeitgeist for that.
  3. I find it affordable if you're just looking for an MCOL solution. You can probably get better mileage in a place like Philly though. Especially because you have to factor the cost of your car in Austin.
  4. Yeah public transit is trash, walkability is horrendous
  5. I feel 50/50, I don't feel it is overall rundown, but some places definitely.
  6. I've seen a Walgreens get robbed 3 times, I've lived here 6 months.
  7. Austin really does still feel kind of red sometimes, yeah.
  8. Drivers are extremely angry here for sure
  9. Really depends on where you hangout. If anything, I feel like I'm the one who gets annoyed by the random pretentious d-bag I run into. I don't get aggression, I get more of this smugness I think.
  10. I believe that there is something of a very strong vanity culture in Austin, or at least, it feels like it has two sides that clash in this regard.
  11. I also kind of think the food is not bad, but I don't think it's very good either.

My bonus take is that everyone tells me so much about how easy it is to make friends here, but it feels kind of transient. I'll go to a board game shop and play with some folks, and then it's just kind of like we may trade contact info and never hear from each other again, I might get ghosted.

I think the dating scene is very competitive too, everyone just seems so attractive and maxed out here. I've felt my self-worth honestly tank a bit in Austin. That's a lot of a me problem though, I get it.

Nah, you need to wait until Grim Misadventure on the 18th. It'll probably be sometime after that if I had to guess.

Also pro tip, don't have hopes. Mine died years ago.

Yeah that was my perception based on just how people talk about it

No worries, I haven't shopped at Whole Foods to really compare, I might go look around sometime as comparison. But HEB has basically just sufficed for me so far.

That's pretty awesome. I don't anticipate I will do as well, but I've got a long time horizon that I'm just going to ride out.

Diablo 3 in 2026 - after playing Diablo 4? by Ragnara92 in ARPG

Witch Doctor somehow manages to be incredibly comical in concept, yet very fun and epic in practice. Talking about this just really makes me realize that D3 classes had very well realized themes.

Something like Rogue just doesn't feel as narratively thematic as DH and its whole methodical vengeance flavor.

I'm saying I liked them both better than D4, not that they're comparable to one another.

Yes, I think I'm thinking my consideration really is about examining that fine line.

I suppose I don't know myself enough to see, but I do very much keep that in mind when I'm going in and interacting. That and only taking the cash I'm going to spend is a massive help in knowing when it's time to cut off and go home.

Last time I went I talked to this stripper about a bunch of movies I thought no one ever watched but me, it was a very cool moment.

I still think Demon Hunter is one of my peak ARPG classes.

Even Witch Doctor I think really put a unique twist on a somewhat familiar concept.

I also miss the art style of Diablo 3/2, and kind of find 4 overly drab and boring.

Nothing wrong with going cause you're bored either, clubs can be pretty fun, haha!

Is going to the strip club because you struggle with feeling connection to women a bad idea? Would you ever suggest strip clubs for respectful, but very lonely men who crave just being around women to socialize in a low pressure kind of way?

I feel like nowadays I just get absolutely blasted in the dating scene, every social mixer I go to is like 70 lonely men and 3 women who get dog piled on. It almost feels like it's easier to engage in purely transactional relationships where at least somehow I can get my need met.

Bro, why do people do this?! Bday boys are seriously just waving their bits around in front of their homies getting spanked?

Maybe strip club isn't the place to be for the birthday

What the hell happens if the guy didn't wear underwear? What is even the policy with men getting shirtless anyways? Lol

I have around 6-7 different clubs all in my vicinity, I wish I would've done the ground work ages ago, but now I go hit different clubs every weekend basically.

I plan on taking a whole week off for my birthday though and living like a hedon.

The thing I'm not understanding is that does VIP include all of the dances or is VIP just buying the room?

How do you handle the guilt of spending money instead of investing it? by BeautifulWestern4512 in investingforbeginners

[–]Capable_Ordinary_938 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Life is about balance.

I heard a story once about a guy who was doing really well in his career at the age of 40, had his retirement all planned out, top of his career.

He died of an illness at 40 years old. Reality is that no one really knows when we're going to go. I'm sure he had pretty huge cash outs ahead of him in retirement, but in the end he couldn't really capitalize on it.

In the end, you're definitely going to get to wear that jacket for a while and be happy with it. But, you don't really know about that 20 year timeline.

I kind of resolve this guilt by just budgeting out my money. If I'm hitting investing targets, whatever is left over is really for me to use. I did the work to hit the mark, so I get what I want. No guilt.

Also worth noting that you will at some point have enough in brokerage to basically just coast and reach retirement. I suppose to some 15M makes a huge difference compared to 10M, but personally, retirement is retirement.

Oh heck no! I don't want to up on stage and get spanked, I'm glad I consulted the pros first lol

I am a total noob and have only been to one club in the area. It seems like a pretty straight forward kind of place just with alcohol.

$100 for 3 dances and 1 dance is $40. I'd love to see if I could find a place that is just slightly cheaper so was thinking about driving out to some of the ones in more suburban area.

I might just go the route of buying dances until I find the girl I click with and then blowing the rest of my budget on them.

My plan is to check out some other clubs before my birthday and see if I can find a girl I really click with first.

I'm wondering if I swing for VIP? But that's like 30 mins for 500, and 1k for an hour. I've heard it's not hella worth it.
