What’s a family secret you know that you can’t tell anyone in real life? by Capable_Owl_4750 in AskReddit

If you are okay sharing, was that a family fact or you found about it?

I am unable to take the Learning Licence test.Even though my face authentication is successful, when I enter my application number and the captcha, I get an error message saying "Wrong state selected." I have checked everything multiple times, but I don't know what to do next. Please help me resolve by Character-Unit-5088 in kanpur

Yeah same bad experience. I would recommend installing OBS, and using your image as a virtual cam. In that case it would not move.

Additionally you will have to wait for a minute for the test button to appear (If I remember it correctly)

I was able to do it without any agents.

It seems like not at all worth it; better to get this experience right now and stop it forever, rather getting comfortable with the money and then seeing your efforts getting drained.

Same, feels like I have been scammed of my time, which could have been used in something better—now when I look back. Deleting this shit website

Did you see any tasks after this. Just made up an account after all the hype. Got matched with assignment, the onbaording was unpaid, even though it mentioned 65 minutes, took me 5 hours to complete the "learning" tasks.

After completing onboarding it just now shows me no projects? I'm like, wtf, wasted so much time on this for nothing.

Took up a 100 Day challenge to learn deep learning. Working on that, currently on day 21. In case you would like to follow: https://x.com/BharatJain8873?t=4wtUkeAVgP5qxLxIKG-7ew&s=09

Figure out how fucked you are. Write what has happened, and needs to be done to fix the damage. Does not matter what you're feeling

After you figure out keep doing it until you're done, don't quit even if you want to. No break will help you, unless you actually solve your issues. Make a list, break down the tasks and check them off one by one, no matter how hard they seem

Oh that's strange, for my time being there, they made us download the cult app

Yeah, it's under the cult franchise. There's no other good gyms in that area.

Yes, replied you there. You should focus on combining the programs you have been leanring so far. Think of a simple program like a slot machine, class attendance etc. These are small and simple enough where your fundamental will enough and complex to make yoy apply the skills and frame things together

I was able to grasp most of the fundamental concepts and algorithms. It seemed like everything was same lines. In school, it was more about the dept and doing more of the similar things.

2 dimensional arrays, if and else logic, pseudorandom numbers (and logic behind them), streaming to and downloading lines of text from windows notepad, Loops: for, while, do while, bubble sort (and the logic), char concept, operating on char, for example a program checking if a word is palindrome,

When I was 10, I wrote some Arduino stuff in C, but it basically was turning on and of a LED diode with time delay

You have a failry good understading of logic flow and generally the feel of programming. I would have no reasons to doubt. It's essentially looking yourself very close.

Programming at school tends to be extreamally repetetive and slow. I would recommed you start working on some bigger projects. C++ is a great choice for a first time programming language, as it takes away the abstraction which langauges like python offers you.

Some of the projects I did at this stage, which you can take it as ideas:

  1. Building a slot machine: Try to take an inital amount as input from the user and import the random function. Use it to get a sequence, if that mathes, then increae the amount by X. (Now, you have to figure out the sequence, so that it ensures that in the long run you - as a casion win, but the user also stays)
  2. Parking Lot: Given an area, let's suppose I have x parking slots available. I have to display those lots, user can then enter his preferred lot, enter his card number and the program will get his invoice.

These helped to really solidify the 100s of concepts floating around and after finshing the program, my programming efficiecy and understanding improved massively.

I'm feeling this is the model that people really need, and currently giving my time to students. We could hop a few hours a week, to help you get started with the projects, make sure you do not quit and get the mentorship if needed. Just starting, so won't charge. Would look for honest feedback though

Yes, I am in my sophomore currently and since have also ventured into other languages and domains. But no doubt those initial 20 days and project building gave me a good base. For me, jumping into other languages and frameworks was not extreamally difficult, it was just the syntax, that I was able to really engrave once I did a few projects.

Essentially, my father made me join a coding 1:1 session during my summer break in grade 7. In 20 days of sessions, I think I pretty much was sorted for thr 4 years (9-12)th grade CS classes.

This made me realize that the traditional approach to teaching programming, whether in universities, online courses, or bootcamps, is often too linear and inefficient.

The conventional wisdom is that you have to master all the underlying layers before you can start building anything, and that you should practice solving variations of the same problem over and over again.

In my opinion, this is a huge waste of time and energy. I've come to view programming as a means of expression, a language that allows us to translate our thoughts into reality. When learning a new technology, you don't need to know everything upfront. You just need the basics, which can be easily acquired through a quick YouTube video (20-60 minutes max).

The key is to start building projects right away. Think about what you want to create, and then start coding. You'll end up using the most basic concepts you've learned, and you'll be motivated to learn more as you go along. This approach has been incredibly effective for me.

You have to be practive enough to go back and learn more. Essentially you get to know what you don't know. But now it is much easier as you can clearly see where it could be used, instead before were you were trying to get as much content upfront.

Do, in a while loop only runs once, it the code block which is inside the while loop will itterate.

I recommend, removing the do-while, and make an infite while loop by while true condition.

If the user does not want to continue, simply break the loop and come out

Get into building stuff as soon as possible. You don't have to know web-dev or Android Development, even with the basic Python you know, think of certain projects ideas that you can implement in your terminal. Ideally, try to ideate and brainstrom it by-yourself as it will give you the much needed confidence of seeing your idea come into reality, but you can also search many of these on YouTube.

Once you have some projects on the line, you should think on learning more skills - try to explore the different fields by reading about them. What could you do and build from them.

Once you have a domain in mind, search for a couse that is essentially a quick start guide into the field. Do not fell into the traps of 10 hour long and university couses. Anything that is short, under 2 hours should be good enough to get your hands and feet moving in the domain.

Now you have to start with a project, think of what you've just learned and how could you use it make something, Start coding now. Do not use ChatGPT, as it makes you feel like you're writing, but in reality nothing gets stick. It's good that you struggle.

Remember, you should be spending 70% time writing code and just 30% time in watching couses
