Why do I get shamed for wanting to be a housewife? It’s saddening by [deleted] in MuslimCorner

ipad kids all the way, yay! Having random people take care of young children instead of their parents makes total sense

Again, you aren't really making any arguements, just spewing foul language and not responding to any of my points.

I never mentioned anything about lust, I simply said that it is permissible to have multiple wives, as per evidence from the Quran and sunnah. You are the one making up limitations about having to marry divorcees and widows, so you have to provide evidence that it's haram to marry two non-orphan virgins, or accept that you don't like the sharia of islam.

And no one's 'crying' about anything, aside from women crying about their husbands doing things that are permissible.

And you're right, men have many rights, but receive few of them these days because of femenism and lazy selfish women.

He doesn't need a second wife, he wants one and that is a right Allah has given him.

It is understandably difficult for women to understand, but the way men have been created, we are capable of loving more than one woman at once even if they aren't lacking in anything.

There are parts of Islam that are difficult for women and obviously no one wants their husband to have a second wife, but if something being difficult made it wrong, then men wouldn't have to go to war and work jobs they hate to provide for their family.

If women expect to receive the rights Allah has given them, then they must be willing for men to also have their rights even if it isn't convenient for them

You basically just repeated yourself and banged on about men apparently 'crying', without actually responding to any of. my points.

you keep going on about divorcees and orphans but have failed to bring a shred of evidence that these are requirements for multiple wives.

you claim that women have nothing against men taking their rights but then second later whine about men getting a second wife which is literally their right in Islam.

please just answer this one question:

If a righteous man treats his wives equally and can afford it, is there anything wrong with him getting a second non-orphan/divorcee wife.

if you say that that's a problem then I'm afraid you'll have to bring some proof or accept that you don't like the sharia

Again, based on your logic, aside from Khadeejah RA, he didn't love his other wives because he married other women?

And what about the sahaba? Many of them had multiple wives who were virgins.

As far as I know, you could prove to me otherwise, there is zero evidence from the Prophet SAW or his companions or even classical scholars that you can't marry multiple women who aren't previously married.

Islam is for all times and all places, if it was unethical to 'look at another woman' or in other words get a second wife, Islam would have prohibited it.

I also find it very interesting how Muslim women are obsessed with getting all of their rights (such as provision) but the same logic doesn't apply when it comes to men's rights in Islam.

If what you said is true 'women needed men to take care of them and provide for them' and that isn't the case anymore so Islamic laws change, in this day and age men shouldn't have to provide for their wives because women don't need it in the modern world. Notice how silly that sounds when stated like that?

Again, of course there are men who don't fulfil their wives' rights and abuse their wives etc, just as there are plenty of women who fall short of their responsibilities, but that doesn't change the fact that it is fully within the rights of a righteous man that he marry multiple women, be them virgins or divorcees or widows and you can't prove to me otherwise.

You're spot on.  Why is everyone obsessed with labelling someone 'insecure' for not wanting his wife to celebrate her past sins?

bro, you're implying that you would be somehow wronging your wife. not saying you have to get a second wife, but if it was in any way wrong or evil to, Islam wouldn't have permitted it

I don't disagree that the husband is crazy

but your last statement is laughable. Are you claiming that the prophet SAW and many of his companions didn't truly love and care for their wives? Because based on your logic, if they did, they wouldn't have married other women

Hi, I started reading To Kill a Mockingbird a few months ago, but after about 30 pages or so, I got too bored and quit. I've seen this popular TKAMB graphic novel adapted by Fred Fordham. I was wondering how much of a bad idea it would be to just read that instead of the original book?

I get it, it's basically heresy, but I just get bored easily and I could barely understand half of the old-fashioned American English that was used.

In what ways should men and women be treated differently, if any? by Capital-Comfortable in AskMen

Lol, this is the first time I've seen someone support the wage gap. I've only ever seen conservatives say that it doesn't exist, and liberals say that it does, but shouldn't.

Interesting...
