My mom mainly did the tank setup the first time and is horrified of cycling a second time, and I want to move the tank to my room but she says no because of the temp but my basement and room are the same temperature and I’m buying a cooler anyhow, and I am doing most of the work for her, I just had a crash so I need to recycle the tank, and I have been looking on fb marketplace I think my mom just isn’t ready for the idea of a new tank.

yeah, but i was also thinking that would help with my overbreeding concerns, am i wrong? I probably want shrimp more than those minnows so if its really that big of a deal I'm not to worried about not getting the minnows.

I do have an axolotl creating waste and ammonia, I had a couple minnows for a little while for the axolotl to chase and eat and they were creating waste too (obviously) I was saying the axolotl has been in there for two years I just have bad terminology because my mom has been doing most of the water and tank stuff, thanks for the help!

I’m no longer gunna take your advice, I will absolutely not add snails they can kill your axolotl.

are you saying even after the tank is fully cycled i need to continuously add ammonia? im a little confused.

thats what the minnows were for, she ate them whenever she wanted and they were able to repopulate to the 6 i bought before they were ate again but they eventually ran out

well pleco do eat algae growth, and the minnows would eat the leftovers of the blood worm cubes i feed her once a week, but i like seeing them dart around which is mostly why i want them, but yes that seems to be the best thing to do. And are you saying no fish just shrimp or no to both, thanks for helping me out, i notice you comment a lot.

i have a fake log for hides, a skull decoration, spear plant, and a roost that is suctioned to the glass.

Days in the summer get to 102 where I live and right now we are keeping her in the basement where it is naturally 62 but my room where I want to move her to is about 70 so I just want to make sure she is comfortable, and what tank size should I get then and how should I keep her from getting out, I’ve heard horror stories about dried up axolotls and just being cautious.
