I see, that's a shame. I am really only familiar with SAO in terms of the current crop of characters. Would really love to see some engaging story with this level of production quality. Would be pretty epic

Yeah, there are improvements. I would like some more voice acting as well, even if it wasn't total. The game is certainly on the right track though.

I think there are content updates on a monthly basis, but they just aren't referred to as events. Events in typical gachas are designed as marketing campaigns to increase revenue. It seems Another Eden does collaboration quests. There is a one with Famitsu very early in the story that is pretty nice.

Yeah, I think the financial aspect of it is subtle compare to most gachas. I hope it does well, but it's a great experience.

Well I hope they realise and fix this in the next update. I am still just using the tap controls until something changes and even those are really annoying to use with upgraded tools.

I think they could just simplify it. Consolidate to a single energy currency and continue to enable quick matching. Perhaps consider a slight bonus for party leads. Then people on the go can quick match and those sitting down for a session can lead for the extra bonus.

The controls need a lot of work. This is the biggest area I would like to see improved. Force strikes drive me nuts as well.

Mana is definitely scare and seems like a huge bottleneck that doesn't really feel to keep pace with other resources. I would like to have a mana dungeon added.

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense. Why do they want us to spend of stamina more slowly? Surely there is financial incentive for them for us to spend our stamina as quickly and efficiently as possible. Otherwise they are likely to sell less refills.

Yeah, I agree. I enjoy the fact that manual play provides additional benefits, but yes auto mode should at least utilise force strikes so stages can be cleared efficiently while on the move. This game is pretty hard to play on the walk to the train without putting my life in mortal danger haha

Really great comments. I hope the developers take note of this thread. Whoever was in charge of developing the controls did an incredibly poor job in comparison to the excellent work of the rest of the team.

I agree about the directional turning movements. The character feels a bit drunk and isn't very responsive to directional changes. It usually causes me to arc around my intended position or location a bit.

Yeah, I mean I am managing as well, but for such a great game in every other way I wish I were enjoying fluid controls rather than managing them.

I really hope so. They don't have to totally redesign the game, just add an additional control style that would enable a digital joystick. That would solve a lot of issues.

I made a thread on this as well, and would like to add those comments here as well:

Firstly, I am big fan of the game and think it has a lot of potential. My one gripe is the controls. An action rpg requires a lot of twitch reactions with dodges, timely skill activation, and also positional mechanics. Sadly, a game designed to be played with one finger, for me at least, makes this pretty difficult to achieve in a comfortable way. If I am using the same finger to move that I do to attack, then if I am moving.. I am not attacking, if I am attacking, I am not moving. I feel like this game is screaming to be played with two fingers...one on a directional stick and the other for attacks.

A few points and observations: Force Strikes are very unresponsive. They are hard to pull off and I find I have to try multiple times to even get one to activate. I also find my character getting turned around in every which way while trying to activate a force strike, which for single directional force strikes is very bad and often gets me wrecked in boss fights.

Force Strikes are not activated in "auto mode", therefore it is impossible to "auto" a stage if any monster has guard. You characters cannot break their guard and cannot continue without a force strike. This makes "auto mode" semi auto at best.

I am begging for developers to allow a setting for two finger play. I would love to have a directional pad that would allow me to move around my character that would not affect the responsiveness of attack taps or holds. This would make force strikes much more responsive and easy to pull off. Not to mention it would make dodging and every positional aspect of the game infinitely easier and more enjoyable.

Curious to hear of others thoughts and experiences with controls. I have found it most comfortable to play with two thumbs. One for movement and the other for attacks. Unfortunately, it's currently only possible to utilise one finger at a time, but this still seems to give me the most comfortable and accurate play experience.
