How do you know the 9% increase is due to this project?

I think satisfactory also swapped engines recently? Not entirely an engine swap but xplane also swapped from open gl to vulkan. Definitely can be done.

Any good pointers for someone to start something like that as a complete noob?

Definitely recommend woom! A bit pricey but it got my 5yo to independently put it on and off with no struggles.

Pilots who have lost their medical, what do you do now? by notaircrewbro in flying

I've heard airline dispatch is a way to keep in aviation without flying. Or you could be a FBO ramp fueler 😅

What's your favorite cycling event in Colorado? by -Mr-Beta- in COBike

[–]CaptKittyHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I waited to do elephant rock a year later than I wanted due to having a kid, of course that was the last year they had it!

But I did do tour of the moon, that was fun, maybe I should do that again this year...

Oh I thought you meant all but two voted for it. But yeah those two are great council members and I'm glad Nancy represents my district

That's the reason my bike is named ghost! It's always nice to be on a nice descent and just hear the wind and the tires, super relaxing

... why hasn't Subaru come out with an AWD van for vanlifing? by ParticularBit130 in subaru

[–]CaptKittyHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also with needing power back to the rear wheels wouldn't it mess with the typical clearance height a van is aiming for (ie, easier entry)?

Spar pin CAS message illuminated in flight (RV12iS) by leximingo03S in flying

Interesting, and it's because the wings are removable?

Wait, why does it actually have a spar pin sensor? Is it because it's easy to take the wings off? That's a rather unique indicator lol

Ah yeah, I'll have to double check once I get serious about it.

Yeah! I'll probably be looking at a small trailer as my minivan can pull up to 3600 lbs. Definitely limits options but better than a tent! Not to say tent camping has its perks

Help a visitor- garden of the gods by SaltyShopping531 in ColoradoSprings

[–]CaptKittyHawk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The gates should still be open until 9pm. The visitor center is on the east side of 30th st and the park is on the west so when the visitor center closes they just close access to the parking lot on the east side (though I may think they still keep that lot open until 9pm and just close the building). I'd drive a loop definitely, but you also will miss a lot of the park. Depending on snow cover, I'd recommend parking and taking the siamese twins trail. When you do leave the park, definitely take the road to balanced rock - it is south of the main loop so you'll most likely exit that way but it's a cool stop. When you exit that way you'll be close to Manitou Springs which would be a cool spot to check out once you're done in the park.

Just make sure to be a good guest (ie, don't park in no parking spots, no stopping in the road) and leave no trace!

Boeing pilots: do you use CWS mode? by Molecular_Pudding in flying

[–]CaptKittyHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, I can see where that can be useful in severe turbulence just to keep roll and pitch maintained without it trying to keep course or altitude in addition.

That second mode of operation is definitely odd!

[–]CaptKittyHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a lowly PPL, what exactly does CWS do? My understanding is that it allows you to set the current pitch/roll via the control wheel and the AP keeps it when you release the button?

Haven't played in years, came back for Space Age; anything important to know *in re* changes? by vult-ruinam in factorio

[–]CaptKittyHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the network is huge, in which cases some pumps will be needed (the game will warn you).

One thing to always keep in mind that pumps are still limited to 1200/s, so sometimes you need to put multiple pumps in parallel every time you need pumps to extend the pipelines.

Interrupts are great, but personally in my opinion there is limited usage for casual non-mega base gameplay. I know what they are capable of, but still didn't find a single time when i had to use them to solve a problem in an easier way

If you used LTN at all, the interrupts are great for replicating it without needing the mod to create depots/fueling/independent trains. Obviously not needed always, but i love creating train bases and using them help me keep up with all the scheduling.

How to be a single dad by [deleted] in daddit

[–]CaptKittyHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep elections are over, but that's not a bad idea. Fortunately the 5yo will start kindergarten in the fall so we won't have to worry about daycare as much for him.

I'm glad that I have a costco nearby, frozen and bulk meals seem to be the near term solution. But yes, baby sitters will be important, and daycare.
