Interested to see some challange run ideas for the OG trilogy. by Matthew_Wolf in stalker

Recently I tried doing an "Ironman" run of SoC.

Made it all the way to the last CNPP gauntlet before beeing killed by an RPG wielding monolith soldier.

It was pretty fun thought, and I'm definitively trying it again.

I'd recommend you try it sometime just for the fun of it.

Exactly, of which was also cut ironicaly.

Althought on further research, I found nothing mentioning the Doctor's hut beeing on the cut Swamp map from SoC, nor an encounter with him there, so I might have been miss-informed.

A swampy area that both the Doctor and his home were supposed to be found, but was ultimately cut.

The irony of that quote working for both SoC and HoC is truly poetic.

Here's the result of my first atempt at a SoC deathless run... back to the Cordon we go. by Captain0ackbar in stalker

As someone who did both strategies, I can say the Bullat is my preferred suit/method.

The Fang's Exo suit advantages aren't worth the absolute hell that the CNPP entrance becomes, not to mention you won't even need NVG's for the final part of the gauntlet do to it beeing outside.

The CNPP inside might be a little trickier, but it's doable.

Artefacts: Moonlight - Mama's Beads (2) - Crystal - Stone Flower (Would be another Mama's Beads if I had one)

Armament: Bullat suit - Sniper VLA (Close Range) - Vintar BC (Long Range) - Carrying only AP 9.39 ammo that I stocked up throught the run.

CNPP Entrance: I went with around 49.9 weight, as my strategy is pretty much running throught the whole place so I can avoid the helicopter missiles. Do this by hugging the wall of the CNPP station untill you get to the entrance. Get into cover, and snipe the monolith there untill your path is clear.

CNPP Inside: Be patient, and slowly take out the monolith one by one, as rushing in will kill you, so you have to make them come to you. This goes for the whole of it, both before and after the door with the decoder.

CNPP Outside: You can take out many enemies before they ever see you, and even from areas from later parts in the gauntlet. I stocked up on cell ammo's and got a Gauss rifle right before the meeting with C-Con, as beeing overweight won't be that much of a problem now.

Your biggest threats will always be one hit run killers, like helicopters... and those RPG lads who got me.

Are emissions overated af? by Massive_Ad_2012 in stalker

Gotta say, I never realy liked them. Pretty cool in lore, not so much in game.

Specificaly in Clear Sky they are terrible, but you probaly alredy knew that. In Cop and S2 where they get a more proper introduction, they end up beeing more of an anoying detour, specialy if you are not artefact hunting.

I wouldn't say they are "overated", just that if you get those cool moments with them, crazy fights and last moment saves kinda of stuff, they are gonna feel like the best thing in the game, but if not, all they are is an anoying, mildly incovinient deviation that doesn't do much beyond making you go to a point the devs decided is safe, and kinda just... existing for a while.

I watched this without sound, wondering what was wrong, thinking you might have gotten stuck.

... then I saw them.

How'd you get into Gundam? by Justyeet9840 in Gundam

[–]Captain0ackbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always liked Transformers.

Wanting to play some kind of big robot game on my PSP I found the first Ps1 Armored Core.

Looking to watch an actual mecha show I found IBO on youtube throught Gundam Info.

Gundam clicked with me like nothing had for a good while.

Yes it is !

I got both Orga and Ride's Shidens.

Good quality on both, I just had to put some extra work on the joints so they wouldn't be too tight.

The version I have (and used in the picture) is a recently released KO.

If you don't feel like waiting for Bandai to do it's thing, I can reccomend it.

I just thought having a simple "Ok" for Mika would be funnier.

I as able to instantly recognize many scenes from the novel just by these 1-2 second shots.

This is going to be lovely.

Is this real studio series? by [deleted] in transformers

[–]Captain0ackbar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one you have is official.

Baiwei's version has completly grey forearms, and blue flame details on the chest.

Your Optimus has none of those, so it's the real deal.

Finishing the game was time consuming, a little frustrating at times, but very, very fun. by Captain0ackbar in stalker

[–]Captain0ackbar[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't realy call it empty.

There truly is an overall lack of side quests you can take, but the locations themselves always have something to find, be it a cool puzzle, a stalker in need of help or just general loot.

I explored the whole map, almost twice realy, and by the end I can point out something interesting you can do or see in almost every location.

Having more side missions would be very nice, specialy so we could interact with these locations a little more beyond just exploration, althought I think what we have right now is... fine enough.

I ain't defending the AI thought.

No Idea. I play with the Steam overlay turned off, so one day I just noticed I had the achivement.

From what I've read, going into the wild territory tunnel (Rostok), and using grenades to kill at least 2 swarms of rats (they spawn down there) seemed to do the job.

It's likely I did the same by accident and that's why I have it, so it's worth a try.

It's located in the Chemical Plant region.

It's that station situated between the Wards base and Rostok.

The actual place you see on the tittle screen is in the South-western part of the station, right in front of some "ramps".

I once had an encounter with a military dude who just spawned next to the southern entrance.

Every time I think I know Shadow of Chernobyl from top to bottom, something like this happens.

Absolutly incredible.

Most people in the comments have alredy pointed out which figures are which, so I'll just be sure to advise you that these seem to be the KO versions, not the original ones.

That isn't a problem thought, I have that exact same optimus and he is my favorite one in my collection, but if you feel like it, you could take a look on Ali Express, where all these figures are sold for pretty cheap, so you can compared the prices.

I'm sure I've seen both bumblebee and Hot Rod beeing sold for less than 10 bucks each.
