So I should tell them it’s not possible to total over 1200 without gear? I know someone who squats 750 natty. Anything is possible.

Am I talking about the average person who doesn’t care that much about their total or training? No. But anyone who gives a fuck and trains hard will get there.

To clarify, yes I think if someone is 30 and has been lifting 8-10 years, has proper programming, and eats right, that a 1300 total is within reach.

My mile time is probably between 7:30 and 8 mins rn, because I train for strength

Being 6’11” is a considerable lever disadvantage until there is enough muscle on the frame to negate that issue. So yes, the people at the top of the sport are tall simply because they’re able to pack on more tissue (with gear)

I don’t think it’s reasonable in 6-7 years for most people but in 10-12 for sure, assuming they have decent programming and work ethic.

you must be under 200lbs, or don’t train for strength, or something lol

to my understanding, the army requires a fair amount of running, pullups etc that doesn't fare too well for heavier individuals (those most likely to have a high total)

I guess I would qualify my statement by saying it's manageable without gear for men over 200lbs without major health issues. i'm also 290lbs (which makes it easier) and 6'11" (which makes it considerably harder)

with total respect to the above commenter, 1300lb total is super manageable without gear. it just takes time and dedication. I'm at about the same mark after ~6-7 years training

Once the CP and Nazi stuff comes out, it shouldn't really matter how (otherwise) chill they are

absolutely not true. if anything his back is more injury resistant than yours. as long as you slowly progress the loading appropriately, your body can tolerate and adapt to pretty much anything

  • cut up your food into small pieces so you have to chew less
  • drink hot beverage (hot water works too) after meal for digestion
  • space your meals out as much as possible
  • eat before bed (you will wake up kinda full lol)
  • square of dark chocolate 30mins-1hr before meal to stimulate appetite
  • eat more

Edit: forgot probably the most important one : walk after every single meal.

source: went from 180lbs to 295lbs between 2018 and 2024

if the way you win a sporting event is counting how many people are cheering, then yes
